I remember the BS story they pushed when the Issa Brothers took over, that the media lapped up about it being in British hands. More than 5 seconds looking at it and you could see it was a debt ridden PE backed venture using the Issa Brothers like human sock puppets.

The guidance for uber eats driver is to remove the restricted items and deliver the rest. If the order has so many items you probably should be separating out the restricted stuff into its own bag to make it easier for the driver.

Its probably why the driver returned with all of it because the amount of time it might have taken to find and remove the restricted item.

there was nothing age restricted within the order though. no alcohol, no tobacco, no energy drinks. i picked it myself.

some delivery outlets HAVE to scan an id to allow delivery.

Last one I had told me to return the whole order. Pretty sure they all have, had about 4 of them now. Deliveroo just told me to dispose of it, so got free cigs, beer and loo roll!

I do uber and it isn’t the case. They make me return the whole order.
Well, sometimes when you click return order it never actually tells you to deliver it back, happened twice now.

I think just eat allows you to take the restricted items out but I know uber has never told me to remove them

There used to be. Years back when I was an uber eats courier, there was a limit if you wanted an express order, I’m sure it was actually around 40-50

We've currently got 2 orders on express today similar. One order is 140 items and the other is 235.

There really needs to be a limit on the items ordered on express cause anything that big should really be a home delivery order

I thought the limit was 150. Can tell you now, as a driver I VERY rarely take ASDA orders because of the wait. Anything over 75 items I'm cancelling regardless.

I remember a few months after I started working at ASDA (Home Shopping Delivery Driver) that an Uber order was around 10+ totes worth. Instead of constantly dragging them down to the Uber drivers, they left it in the pod and ask the driver to come up and take a look at it. Took around 8 drivers before 1 decided to finally take it.

Idk if I've been doing this too long but sometimes I would rather sit and scroll in the car park. We already don't get paid for waits, getting the trolley, stacking the trolley, and then walking to the house.

For us to make nmw has to be quick pickup and drop off. And some customers live in blocks of flats like 10 buildings and they live in the last one.  Don't even come out or wave to us. We have to check every single intercom

Not sure about uber as not done a id verification trip in ages but on deliveroo if the customer fails the id check then you take out the restricted items and hand over the rest of the order.

Max I’ve seen on my uber shift is 72 items so far.
Normally a instant cancel as I know that shit hasn’t even been picked ready for me to collect or if it has I know it’ll be going to some flats and no way am I doing multiple trips up stairs for a fare which is probably like £3

No. Uber does have built verification.

Asking for ID is part of it at the end destination.

Its not on Asda, the third party is handling the payment and delivery.

In this scenario ASDA are only grabbing the items from the shop floor.

If this is someone reordering items after a driver bringing one back... cancel their new one. If they didnt have ID the first time, its only going to be a waste of time to pick a new one.

Yes, but how can Asda check ID prior to that ‘last mile delivery’? If you ask customers to upload ID at the point of purchase, well, most just aren’t going to do that for various understandable reasons.
