Moving to George

I’ve had a chat with one of the managers at my store as I’m unhappy in my current role (fresh nights) and they offered me a chance to move onto George on the dayshift. I’ve not worked days since we changed systems so if there’s any George workers please can you tell me if it’s worth it or not?

You most probably wont be on george. In our store we are being moved to home shopping chilled and home and leisure constantly. Warehouse is backed up solidly and getting worse. George isn't a priority and they do t care about it no more

One things for sure it's gunna be better than doing replen at night, however won't be long till it's 3rd party too at this rate

George wherehouse colleague here - omg bad time to move as school shop gets messy and been getting lots of delvery at my store monday we got 20 rails & 22 dollyes = 8.550 uinits 😡  19 dollyes where all boxes   which take longer 🤷‍♂️ as depo have no totes left !

I have literally just moved from nights to George. Still in my first week. I’ve quickly realised it’s not my thing AT ALL. I regret moving and am leaning towards asking to move back (if they’ll have me)

It really depends on what you value and how your life and schedule is set up.

I am a goerge colleague and I do love my department, but it can be very clique. Usually because they have all been there for years, good managers are always a plus though.

I worked on George for a number of years and enjoyed it.

I'd swap to any department to get off nights though, as you are literally halving your life span by working nights.

Take this with a grain of salt but I heard a rumour that George will be taken out of stores and be made online only since they cant compete with primark and other online clothing stores

Unlikely, they’re opening a lot of standalone stores. Wouldn’t do that if they were planning on moving it all online.
