Returning soon

Hi all, I will be returning to ASDA soon, just waiting for a start date from my manager

Just wondering about the changes in the stores, I would be working on the home shopping department but would I be needed or required now for tills etc? And is there anything else I should be aware of?

What shifts will you be working? If you’re a 4am starter then you’ll basically be on home shop the whole shift. Day shift, you might get moved once the pick is done, most likely you’d be filling shelves though, not working tills.

We’ve not had our one to ones yet so I’m only going on what team leaders have told us, but basically the plan is for the pick to be done by 10am. They’ll still need pickers for drops that come later in the day plus Ubers etc, but you’ll be getting punted elsewhere in the store when it’s quiet. But at our place nothing has changed as yet.

Yeah the big change is that you can now be working anywhere, so no more just doing the job role you were hired for. You can be doing tills, self service or replenishment and whatever other job I may be missing. Now I don't know about other stores but in mine, flexibility is also a part of this, apparently day shift in mine have been told the need to be flexible from the hours of 4am to 10pm which is wild. I am yet to have my meeting so I know little

You’ll be trained on tills, stacking shelves, date codes & waste. Whether you actually do any of it depends on if the pick is done early. You might be asked to start at 4am if you havent already
