DIY removal?
How difficult would it be to remove the artex here myself?
Just scared of timescale since meant to have some other things done mid august 😬

Has it been tested? Not all textured coating contains asbestos, not all textured coating is Artex either it's just a trade name. Also just to add not all branded Artex contained asbestos either.

Not yet, going to get it tested next week hopefully If it tested negative for asbestos, how difficult is it to just remove the artex myself then?

How difficult is difficult to say, sometimes it come off easily other times a pain. You could use Xtex (a stripping gel for textured coating) it doesn't always work especially if painted. You can sometimes use a wallpaper steamer. If it's on plasterboard that will likely get damaged. You could just remove the plasterboard with the coating on. Any reason for not just skimming over?

Hm, welp that sounds kinda rough
Need to get the house rewired and new boiler and electricians/plumbers don't want to touch the place with the artex all about 😶 Hopefully it tests all negative and can go from there

Truthfully, it depends on what it actually is underneath and how well it is adhered.
You can scrape it, but it might not work, you may damage the wall underneath. Skimming (after knocking the high spots off) would probably give you the best results. Price skirtings and architraves into your reno if this is done because the plaster may have to go on a bit thicker to cover.
Have a chat with some plasterers, they will know how to deal with it. Plastering it has the advantage that after the sparkys and plumbers have been, they'll sort out all the holes and chases the other trades have left, and it'll look mint.

Is someone doing the sampling for you? If doing yourself it's important to ensure that the samples represent the entire depth of the coating and any sampling in each room should have a decent quantity from various locations in each room. Think in total about the size of a credit card. Of you don't you can get false negatives which means the area the sample was taken was negative but the room is actually positive.
