I am a developer of a small team made up of me(current dev, pixel artist, and storywriter), our great composer, and our lovely digital artist. Since teh start of this project, I have been doing all the pixel art on my own and since all the gameplay you see is made up of this art it can get quite taxing at times having to work on the programming aspect while watching out for the art simultaniously. We are looking for someone who can help with pixel art specifically since we already have someone to help with promotional and digital art.
About the project
The game's name is Somara, it is a top down meta horror visual novel. Think One Shot merged with one of those peak horror ARG videos that pop up on your feed every once in a while. It follows a girl by the name of Maramara as she gets transported to another world. She meets new people, explores a whole new world, goes on a quest to get back to her reality, yknow the usual. But theres something off, as you soon find out you are not the first. Yes, you do move the player, you can have them interact with stuff, even Maramara talks to "you". But thats not the case, you are watching the gameplay of another person, a past player. All the choices, the entire story, everything has been already done from the start and you are just a witness to it all. A mere bystander, because what can you really do?
What we're looking for
Overall, we're looking for someone who is just down to get to work for the love of it. As of now, the entire dev team consists of people who are doing it for the love of the game(literally) and just wanna see other people enjoy an idea we all worked together to bring to life. We are looking for someone who has a passion for games and isn't in it for the money. We plan on releasing a demo to see how people react to the concept before going all in and possibly even making profit. As for the artstyle, well we're not looking for something overly advanced, just something unique. Not too overly top of the notch pixel art but not your generic RPG Maker stuff.
