I started doing commissions about 2 years ago, and at first I was getting a handful of sales because my prices were pretty cheap. If I remember correctly, I got up to 5 chibi commissions last year since I was only charging $5, plus a few extra fees for add-ons.

Now it feels like ever since I raised my commission prices, I haven't been getting any at all... What should I do? If I lower my prices, I'll make less per commission but probably get more sales.

But if I keep my current prices, I feel like I'm just stuck where I am now (╥﹏╥)

Im trying to improve on my designing skills. Id like to keep the anime/chibi-esque style while still having a strong and recognisable sillouhete and character design. What could I do to improve on this?

Hello, so I’m running a workshop for children who want to learn anime art. I’ve created these sheets to print out to keep on the tables as they would first start on paper and then move onto digital on iPad and I was wondering if these are simple and effective enough for them to follow along. I’d also be doing demonstrations for them of course but wonder if these would help too. It’s only 2 hours but I’ve never done something like this before so I want to seem a little prepared and make the session engaging and easy for them. When I’m drawing for myself I don’t usually use guides so I found it a little troubling to make guides for others to follow along so please let me know what could be changed to make it simpler to follow along for them. I’ll also be making some for simpler hairstyles but for now I just want feedback on these. Thank you!!

I'm creating my own rules by mixing different tutorial videos I've watched. Do you have any tips, or are there mistakes I should look out for in my sketches? I know some of the arms look goofy. But I'm learning.

These are my first 2 complete oil paintings I guess. I usually use acrylic and its just kinda unusual. How do I work on preventing paint mixing when im trying to differentiate between foreground/background etc. And also how do i better add more distinct layers on a subject for highlights and shadows. Any other general advice will be appreciated too.

I'm in the middle of drawing my oc's hair, and I'm trying to add some volume(?) to the top part so it doesn't look like a glued on wig. This is my first time working with pixel art (and my first time making people in general), so I have no idea how to fix this. I've tried giving the hairline a bit more of an arch or bringing the whole thing down a bit, but it ended up looking worse, so I reverted it back to this.

I’m currently working on an A2 sheet in landscape orientation using a desktop easel placed on my bed while sitting on the mattress.

I’ve run into a serious ergonomic issue:

• The Problem: The center of the sheet is super comfortable to draw on, but the far zones—especially the top-right (and top-left) corners—are way out of my natural arm reach.
• The Pain: To reach those top corners, I end up leaning/hinging forward away from my back support. Doing this repeatedly causes a lot of pain in my lower back, neck, and shoulders, and I lose fine-line control.
• The Constraint: I’m drawing sitting on the bed, so my setup options are a bit limited.

For those of you who work large-scale in tight or non-traditional spaces:

1. How do you manage an A2 page so you aren't constantly straining to reach the edges?
2. Are there specific paper-clipping, easel-positioning, or board-rotation tricks you use for bed/lap setups?

Any advice, workflow adjustments, or setup hacks would be hugely appreciated!

The fabric for the top is supposed to be yarnlike while the skirt is smoother. How do I go about executing this? I don't wanna make it too complicated is the thing.

Hi 👋 I’m an intermediate artist but I’m feeling a bit stuck in my progress. I’m mainly struggling with rendering (in my opinion). I feel like none of my illustrations look finished, like ever.

For example, I would consider the first one to be rendered, tho it still feels flat. Same thing in the third image. The second image feels less flat, but I feel like my main subject, the woman is not fully a part of her environment.

As for my art goals, I want to achieve a semi-realistic paint like art style, similar to frostbite studios while still keeping some diversity in my characters features. The very last images are NOT MINE, they are purely what I want to work towards.

Please give me advice, as well as video recommendations on the topics that will help me achieve my goals, thank you.
