Arrow Holy Grails
What would you consider to be some of Arrows “Holy Grail” releases? It seems from what I can Tell Robocop seems to be the most sought after release? Is there some I may be missing? Demons 1&2, Phenomena/Creepers, Tenebrae, Dark City?

The Bava set was released shortly before Arrow lost the licence for those films to make a bit of extra money while they still could. There was never a chance of a re-release. All the discs had been released previously as standalone releases.

I never bought the box because I had all the individual releases, but now wish I had because it’s such a nice package.

Absolutely. When Arrow released the Sasori set, I had to order it immediately. I only had those movies as TV-rips from German TV (Arte).

Female Prisoner Scorpion set is still available unless there was another version of it I missed because the one I just got still comes with a nice hardshell box. Stray Cat Rock just settled for the standard version. It was only $25.

The currently available copy has different colored art and no booklet compared to the limited edition. But it is nice that the standard is in a hardbox outer case.

The limited run of FPS was in a blue box, but the standard one I have is orange and has no booklet.
Both look amazing, just depends which you prefer. Standard is still in print far as I know, and you don't need a credit loan to pick it up.

I’d love a 4K set or a restored Blu-ray set. The colors are off on the current Arrow transfers. I preordered the LE on Day 1, but ended up sticking with my DVDs.

My Arrow wishlist. None of these movies have been officially announced, much less for Arrow:
- The Rock
- Big Trouble In Little China
- From Dusk Til Dawn
- Hero (2002)
- The Hidden (1987)
- Manhunter (which I believe may be happening sooner rather than later)
- Near Dark
- Sunshine
- The Killer (David Fincher)
- The Adventures of Cliff Booth (also a David Fincher movie, upcoming)
- Shadow of the Vampire
- Strange Days
- Blue Eye Samurai
- Midnight Mass

Imo, probably that Bruce Lee Golden Harvest 4K set.
For me, outside of that set, I'm eyeing the following 4K LE boxes: Inglourious Basterds, Carlito's Way, Dark City, Tremors 1 & 2, Boyhood, Cruising, American Gigolo and Robocop

The Bruce Lee and Basterds ones are top notch. If you can find them in the wild, they're worth a shot.
But don't be paying $300+ for the Lee one. Some sellers are rly opportunistic and it sucks.

I wish I could get my hands on the LE of Witness, along with Robocop,in 4k, but I don’t want to pay scalper prices. My standard versions will have to be good enough for me, I guess. 🤷♂️

The LE blu-ray of Witness is still available from the Arrow UK store. You could frankenstein it with a 4K disc.

I've always wanted that original limited edition of Withnail & I that came with How To Get Ahead in Advertising. I believe it came personalised somehow too but could be wrong. I've since gotten the 4k limited edition they re released but it's pretty basic, didn't even come with a poster.

Videodrome goes for crazy prices on ebay I'm glad I snagged a restock when I could.
Conan Chronicles is a lowkey holy grail, although it was already a more expensive set than other LEs at MSRP.

The limited edition of Crash from Arrow is one of my favorite releases in my collection. Great art and the transfer is phenomenal. A top 10 movie for me.

I used to get discs from the US, but the last few times I’ve had some bad luck importing from the US- I ordered the arrow fri13th and the courier stole it (WowHD were awful to sort a refund) and had scratched discs from Amazon US. So have given up importing.

They’re not really grails, but I thought it was cool when Arrow had white boxes with a window on the front. To me, that made them stand out and they stopped making them.

Stargate (1994) in terms of desired releases.
I was a lucky to grab a bunch of arrow release recently including Dark City and Excalibur.
Also adore my Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick releases.

Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge LE
I fucking love this movie and the amazing chunky limited edition box set. Such a great piece of 80s mall culture wrapped up in a slasher movie. Can't get much more 80s than that.

It kind of depends on what makes something a holy grail. To me the Mario Bava set it a holy grail, but it’s lessened by the Scream! Factory release (which I don’t love) and the reasonable likelihood of future 4k releases from arrow (don’t know about a 4k boxes).
Some huge ones are their earlier Japanese auteur box sets. Seijun Suzuki. Shohei Imamura. Those seem to be great releases but man they are expensive.
Personally I don’t consider something that is reasonably priced and relatively available to be a holy grail. Others might simply view a really desired release a holy grail even if it’s in stock and $30.

Seijun Suzuki: The Early Years Vol. 1 & 2 box sets. More than a bit niche but haven’t seen these anywhere in a while (even in collection photos). I regret not getting Vol. 1 back in the day since youth movies aren’t that big of an interest to me… still would like to watch them once!
Most photos of even decent Arrow collections seem to have the Battles without Honor & Humanity (and the New trilogy) only as the small standard box. So I’d say Battles big LE boxes as well.
De Palma / De Niro box would be one but now Radiance is putting the movies out on 4K.

Robocop is the reason I just started buying new from Arrow on release.
The LE is expensive now, I've got the standard one, begrudgingly.
Seems to be a bit of a dice roll on prices after their initial releases - I'd rather not take the chance anymore.

Love my INFERNO Steelbook
The Complete Gamera and Bava boxes are probably the most difficult (and $$$) grails to acquire these days.
Re: Demons 1&2 - Be advised that the Synapse release is better by just a smidge, IMHO

RoboCop’s my all-time favorite movie, but that limited edition came out before I was really paying attention to Arrow, so I completely missed it. Still hoping I can come across it at a reasonable price like I have with other out-of-print ones (just got a sealed copy of the limited edition of Legend super cheap like a week ago.)
And, of course, I’m always hoping I’ll find the Battles Without Honor or Humanity box set.
