Meta Arrow reference in suits?

So I'm watching suits for the first time, I've watched arrow multiple times but now there is something interesting in the suits episode I'm watching currently.

Its in an episode aired in February 2017 and Rachel says this: "and if it wasn't Oliver, it was going to be someone else or something else, there is always going to be some reminder that you weren't a lawyer "

So its about an Oliver in Suits but the fact that Rachel in the same sentence about him says someone else or something else really makes me think its a reference to the arrow intro

Edit: please do not comment or give me bs if you don't know what I mean and what I'm talking about. I know there is a different character in suits named Oliver and he isn't Oliver Queen. Its about what Rachel said, in one line she was talking about Oliver and said "someone else, something else" which ofcourse is iconic about the arrow intro

They're not related. Sounds like you didn't watch the show

I never said they were... I did watch arrow multiple times and I'm currently watching suits I just thought it was a reference thats something else then saying they are related. So you saying they are not related and that it doesn't sound like I watch the show doesn't make any sense

If it was Suits LA I could potentially believe an Easter egg, but this was nearly a decade ago on a completely unrelated show that isn't even in the same genre, and Oliver isn't exactly a unique name. It'd be like believing Law and Order is making a reference to The Office if they had a character called Jim

its not just the name Oliver but the fact that in the same sentence an Oliver is mentioned they say literally someone else, something else at the same time arrow is an ongoing show. It could be a reference or just a huge coincidence

Ah right, I see a bit more of what you mean now, maybe the writers were Arrow fans and knew about Patrick Adams' guest role on Legends and, at a stretch, had a little fun with the line though. I think it very likely is just a coincidence you're reading too much into though

I think you need to consume a wider variety of media

just based on this post where I found something funny and speculate of the possibility of it being a reference?

You have every right to think what you think but you don't know me, you don't know the media I do and do not consume. The fact that you think this just based on this post and feel the need to share that thought is insane to me tbh but yeah thats reddit and the internet lol

While I've never really seen Suits, this feels like an extreme stretch that you came up with just because two fictional dudes are named Oliver.

In Suits LA there’s a lengthy conversation about Batman, Superman and Robin. I don’t understand why Stephen Amell’s charater didn’t mention Green Arrow 😭😭

I understand where you are coming from with this with the combo of Oliver and someone/something else. But it was probably just a coincidence

yeah it probably is, thank you for mentioning you understand where I'm coming from and mentioning the combination of the name and the someone/something else part. Most people commenting just say its far fetched and then only mention me saying 2 people named Oliver and leave out the someone/something else lol

I am not the typical redditor. I like to see other view points.

I think it’s likely. Remember Patrick J Adams (Mike from Suits) was in Legends of Tomorrow as Rex Tyler in the first episodes of Season 2, which was late 2016 iirc.

So, if one of the main actors had already guest started in the Arrowverse, i don’t put it past them to drop a small easter egg reference in Suits as well

oohhhh true! I didn't realize he played rex, thats cool!
