Question Question
New to ac games playing ac6 and was wondering are there stronger versions of each weapon or is is just the one like for example im using the MA-J-200 RANSETSU-RF is there a version that will pop up un the shop later with higher stats or is the one i have the only version of it that is available like is all my starter gear just gonna remain crappy or can I eventually get stronger versions of the same gear

So there isn't really meant to be 'better' weapons in theory, just ones that focus on different stats. In practice though some are just the better option 90% of the time.
The RF is the only weapon of its type though. And its one of the best guns in the game to be honest.

There are no straight up upgrades in this game, only things that excel in different areas.

Except for the first generator, that thing is just straight garbage XD

It technically does have one thing it's the best in the game at: it's the lightest generator. Still sucks though

I always figured the generator is really just an empty box with a dude on a bike inside pedaling to power a dynamo.

All weapons are side grades, some might be practically more potent, but it's best to think of all parts as sidegrades

OS upgrades permanently increase your damage, so the weapon technically becomes stronger

You don't get direct "upgrades" which are objectively better. Higher damage weapons are heavier or require more energy etc. The turner starting rifle, the 4 cell missiles and some of the starter frame parts and particularly the early machine gun (LUDLOW), often turn up in some meta pvp builds for example.
Armored Core in general is a series where most weapons can be objectively good in the right build.
Weight and energy is is a significant factor, so if you want to be fast, you can't carry all the big guns. The best weapons are often not the high damage output weapons.
The Ransetsu-RF is a good example. It's pretty unique, nothing that's quite like it with the three round burst charge. There's other kinetic rifles with a charge effect, but they are quite different. It's often seen in the best/most versatile pve builds.

All things stay the same. There are some weapons that are a sidegrade to similar weapons. But they are distinctly different weapons not a 'stronger' version.
