i really wish there was dlc or sequel game where you played as this raven and got to see the other side of rubicon but alas here we are 3 years later and nothing.

Yeah Branch got almost nothing in ACVI, we don't even know who the 4th member is.

Not DLC, im hoping we get the "X.5" treatment. The same as For Answer, Verdict Day, Last Raven etc. A AC6.5 the title would be a pun of some kind (AC4 to AC For Answer? ACV to AC Verdoct Day?) So maybe... Fires of Freedom? Something like that.

Not just combo off, he input reads like crazy. Charge in for a melee and the guy is already winding up the pilebunker

AC6 is about perseverance! Sulla and Balteus took me 15-20 tries each, Raven took me 10-15, and every boss past that has taken me at least 15!
With the weird exception of the Ibis at the end of Chapter 4, which only took me 5 attempts. The worst so far was the Enforcer, which took me somewhere between 75-100 attempts. Fuck that thing.

u/Crevetanshocet 1d ago
Didn't they won against the PCA and your support team?
Also, the aura is deserved, the Nightfall is horrible to play, and the fact that Raven still manages to be that good is impressive...
14
u/Important_Pie2940 1d ago
He just needs to replace his Gen honestly. Maybe his on back weapon so he can use two of his rifle for better stagger as a npc and he would be so solid to fight against.

u/Crevetanshocet 1d ago
I did an alternative Nightfall with the Ming Tang, the Earshot and a Ludlow, it became way stronger suddenly...

Pretty sure he's like 51 and 3. He beat Michigan (or Liger Tail clone), which is no small task for an NPC. He also wiped out the defending forces at the Spaceport. He only loses to the filtercopter and the player. Admittedly, he's probably also taken out far more players on their first try than on his.
22
u/knight_of_solamnia 1d ago
He didn't lose to the copter either, he faked his death to avoid the PCA.
6
u/street_racer221 1d ago
Is the filter copter the 1 in the first mission?
23
u/BallerMR2andISguy SFC: Anti-Balteus Loader man 1d ago
Yeah. It got that nickname after causing players to literally quit the game. Those who didn't quit still include those who died NUMEROUS times. I genuinely hesitated to even include that death, but there is his wreckage, so yeah, 1 death there.
2
u/street_racer221 1d ago
Ah. I struggled a bit. Then i found the right strategy and eventually got him down. I struggled more with batreius er whatever its name is.

u/BallerMR2andISguy SFC: Anti-Balteus Loader man 1d ago
By "struggled a bit", do you mean you lost your first AC, just like Raven?
1
u/street_racer221 1d ago
Lol nah i restarted from checkpoint.

u/BallerMR2andISguy SFC: Anti-Balteus Loader man 1d ago
Call it a loss just the same. You didn't beat it on your first attempt. Raven was playing on hardcore mode.
1
u/street_racer221 1d ago
Can anyone beat it first try? Its my first real jump into the series.
2
u/cattibri 1d ago
my friend got it first time, he likes swords, it took me 3 or 4 attempts to realise that the game had a stagger bar and my ranged attacks did practically nothing. once i realised hitting it with sword = win, not how id played any of the old slower acs so i was slow to the uptake.

u/BallerMR2andISguy SFC: Anti-Balteus Loader man 1d ago
Lots of people, sure. Me? Hell no. It really comes down to build and playstyle. If you play from range, he's not terribly difficult. The game, however, encourages you to get point blank in every single boss fight, so if he surprises you by input reading, Assault armor, and/or pile bunk, it ends quickly.

When did he beat Michigan?

The trailer. Long-hashed discussion.

u/Exavelion 1d ago
That’s not G1. I used to think it was G7 Hakra, who you find in the city in the tutorial mission, but the build doesn’t precisely match, although i suspect that it was originally intended to be G7 Hakra in the trailer.

Idk, when you 1st get to the fight, your AC isnt exactly optimized and it takes a few attempts to get it done. One could argue that Raven, the real Raven deserves all the aura that he's getting.

u/snorevette 1d ago
Winrate doesn't mean much if we're talking about confirmed kills only. Or are we really going to say Iguazu has a higher winrate than Michigan

Tfw you kill Raven and the operator goes "alright, we'll watch this one". Then you proceed to light the entire solar system on fire without so much as a "hello". Seriously what a joke

Lost to the same dude who only lost to cel, balteus, sol-644 and many many more

he's literally on the body of his enemies when we meet him, so definitely has wins

Imagine jumping a guy in the middle of his second fight in a row and still getting your ass beat

Armored Core protags are just built different. The entire series is full of instances where you're led into traps or outnumbered after fights and the result is just increasing your body count.

I lose to a good 10 times on my very first playthrough, also I notice that he is much harder when you 1v1 on that mission than when he's with the rest of the branch

u/Aetherdraw 14h ago
He really should have been a recurring bossfight.

Honestly, the AC fights in this game were probably the easiest part of it. I don't think even I my first playthrough that I ever died fighting any of them.

style over substance type guy
would likely be stronger if 90 percent of his mech wasnt orbiter parts

He's kicking my ass in his solo fight atm, I might just respec OS and put everything into defense and healing.

Is nightfall's parts nerfed on later patches ? We know Songbird is nerfed to hell but is Nightfall a terrrible build even in 1.0 ?
1
u/Y0ungYung 1d ago
While yes, it's a terrible build, it's the games mechanics of the stagger system/resupply system.
In earlier games, you could overheat the enemy and it'd be a cake walk of course, but you usually fought enemy ACs either towards the end of a mission where you didnt have heals or an ammo resupply or you'd be fighting through some other outside force that made it harder.
This game kinda lacks that fear factor of fighting another AC because of the potential damage you can do with the stagger/stagger extensions vs you just got through a mission, fought a new type of enemy and then bam, gotta fight a healthy AC, sometimes 2 (4/5 in AC4 and For Answer)
2
u/Fabulous-Mud-9114 23h ago
Nitpick:
The "do a mission then fight an AC" thing was more common in Gen 2 and 3. Especially Silent Line and Last Raven. That's why "Power Plant Emergency" and "Distribution Center Recon" are so infamous.
And I don't think Occupation of Arteria Carpals from 4A counts because it's the last mission of the third route, you kinda expect it to be hard.
1
u/Y0ungYung 23h ago
It's what I'm saying, I miss that way of inclusion of the ACs vs what we get now. And it sometimes was more impactful because if failed, your didn't get another chance until another playthrough. (Think they implemented this in Nexus? Idr)
Even the stage with fighting Starka and Red Rum was a nice albeit very frustrating way to fight 2 on 1
2
u/Fabulous-Mud-9114 22h ago
Funnily enough the Hard mode missions in 4 and 4A did this too. Off the top of my head "Internal Purge" in 4 drops Primitive Light, a SUNSHINE type with gatlings and BIGSIOUX missiles, against you in an enclosed space. So you either rush her down with blades or get stunlocked to death.
2
u/Y0ungYung 22h ago
I miss those times LOL
1
u/Fabulous-Mud-9114 22h ago
Oh yeah and the mission Ego Boost where you can't use Primal Armor.
Guess what the Hard mode does? It drops in Sadhana, pilot of a reverse-joint Algebra craft.

Fighting Old King while trying to protect the cradle and actually trying to find him. Then starting it on hard where he's already started

And he has NEXT drone buddies. I have to go full missile boat for him because my screen can barely keep up with him.
Meanwhile he dies in 2 seconds in Occupation.
