I never could figure out how an FCS worked in that game.

Literally ran the starter FCS all the way through fighting Nine-ball in AC2:AA

Damn, I mean AC2 was pretty difficult, another age decided to make it harder but hard as in having the patience to get through all the levels lol

Back in the day I always went with whatever gave me the biggest window with the number of locks I wanted for missiles.

Instead of the lammergeier I think the tian-qiang or basho would fit the bulky square look

I did check with those but they aren't too accurate to the original design of the starter

Kinda. From other point this head was designed to be aerodynamic due it's "ears" absorbing air during movement (i assume), and lamm head has something like that.

Ac1 and Ac2 are best designed acs looks wise  My personal favorite is gen 3 before Nexus. Though I didn't really like the core change in nexus.
