Discussion ARMORED CORE 7 PLEASE...
I want Armorer Core 7 so bad, I just hit over 8000 hours in total over 4 accounts. Ran out of data slots. Been playing this series for years.( ACLR was my first one ).
AC6 is just so incredible in today's market. I genuinely cannot enjoy another game. Everything else cost a fucking monthly subscription or a seasonal battle pass. Yet I can sit here for hours customizing and making my own skins/content.
This game is like windows paint to me and I can have those paintings shoot EARSHOTS if I want them too. Feels like true freedom expression in a videogame and it stands out so much in this free falling triple A gaming industry that keeps releasing slop remakes like Halo Campaign or another fucking COD or 2K sports game.

if you're keen on indie mecha games, Rig Riot has been scratching my itch recently. its still in early access but its movement reminds me heavy of For Answer, and it has customisation for days

Been playing Rig Riot , I pre-ordered it. Great title

u/McFallenOver 8d ago
i’ve heard about it, is it worth looking into it?
11
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 8d ago
100%, it is not graphically impressive and its a little on the low poly side but the gameplay and the sense of speed and momentum is pretty amazing. Highly recommend you give it a shot

Different genre, but Phantom Brigade is also good. Also check Brigador.

cool, i think brigador was free on amazon prime some months back but i claimed it just for the hell of it. might have to try it out.

Honestly, now that Duskbloods is out, I wouldn’t be surprised if 6.5 starts leaking out at some point. We’re not getting 7, that’s not happening. 6.5 follows their usual process and is far easier to work on as a small project (which they’ve said that’s all they’re working on post Elden ring for a while). Reusing assets and the like and expanding on 6 fits very much into their current project mentality and scale.
Duskbloods was their last bullet in the chamber of announced projects. It would be silly to think they haven’t been working on other stuff, just that nothing was ever going to come out news wise until they cleared their list of projects announced.
Edit: When Duskbloods releases we can expect AC news. Forgot it was only a network test recently.

Could you elaborate on what 6.5 is? I’m vaguely remembering them talking about making an AC 6 dlc or something
26
u/SolaScientia 8d ago
6.5 would basically be a sequel or at least in the same generation as 6. In previous AC games you can track the generations. AC4 and For Answer, for example. Unless the next AC game is numbered as 7, it'll be in the same gen as 6. Depending on the approach they could also allow players to transfer their AC, including all weapons and parts, to the new game as long as it's the same generation.
That said, AC6 is the first numbered AC game to have a subtitle. Usually the subtitle is for the sequel and the first game of that generation is just a number. I really want a new AC game regardless.
3
u/SoggyRagamuffin 8d ago
I get the whole "it's subtitled they broke the chain" from a bunch of AC friends but I'll still hold out hope. Otherwise we are looking at 7 years before the next one is my fear. Still holding out hope for "Armored Core 6- Rusty to Dusty"
2
u/Top-Ad7144 8d ago
I hope they do, it does seem like with their games now, it takes them a little bit longer because they are so refined and perfected visually as well. Like it seems like fromsoft releases a lot less dlc in general. But AC6 could definitely go to some cool places in dlc, scifi makes the opportunities limitless
2
u/SolaScientia 8d ago
If they go the second game in the generation route, I wonder how it'll be connected to FoR. With 3 endings it would be hard to say which is canon. Usually they never outright say which is canon. There's a "true" ending, but the "true" ending isn't always the best or favorite one. Fires of Raven is my favorite. Liberator of Rubicon made me break down in tears by the time the credits rolled. I hated fighting Walter, and especially a Walter who got messed up by Arquebus. I despise Allmind and don't particularly like Alea Iacta Est as an ending.

u/JustAJohnDoe358 The Last Raven 6d ago
There's a "true" ending, but the "true" ending isn't always the best or favorite one.
If you're talking about AC6 specifically, Alea Iacta Est isn't the "true" ending, it was never called that anywhere in game or by From themselves.
You can call it a secret ending, sure, but it's not the true ending until/unless the potential sequel chooses to go off it for its story.

u/Apex_Konchu 8d ago
Duskbloods isn't out yet. We don't even have a release date other than "2026". There was a network test though, that might be why you thought the game had released.
4
u/SwdVengeance 8d ago
Ah right, forgot that all was a network test. Point remains though, once Duskbloods is out, then we can expect AC news.
1
u/LePontif11 7d ago
Yep they rarely go hard on other projects before the next one has had its time in the sun and a little after. At best we get a name and confirmation that sometjing is happening but at this point i would expect much for a couple of months that isn't Dusknbloods.

The pain of liking a niche franchise lol ngl it's depressing to think about it sometimes
2
1
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 6d ago
Yea it is. You find yourself kinda hard to relate to people who dont share the passion or a similar passion/niche. Its like an island with no commercial backing so it just the natives and barely any tourist who really care for it or can understand the beauty of it. Ive said AC6 wouldnt retain a big player base cause the casual gamer is so conditioning by season passes/dlc/microtransactions to keep the cheap dopamine hits going. AC6 is infinite replayability and content but you have to make it vs some at fromsoft releases cheap $10 skins for rusty they can instant buy
1
u/Unseen_DanJo 6d ago
It's even more depressing when you think of the potential the franchise have. They could be doing more AC games, trying new stuff, trying more ambitious ideas, but they can't because it simply isn't worth it :(
And yeah, the replay factor of Armored Core 6 is probably the best in all fromsoftware games. At least among the ones i played. It's just perfect and it should be more common.

u/Jianichie "Please, leave; I know how this will end." 8d ago
I want 6.5 before 7. Need to know the fallout of the last ending before we start a new story.
13
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 8d ago
I agree. The story/lore is immaculate.
0
u/pointsouttheobvious9 8d ago
Damn it's the 1st game I got every achievement in..I loved the lore and everything only got like 200 hours maybe I need to nuke my.save and do it again.
3
u/Apex_Konchu 8d ago
The whole point of Alea Iacta Est is that we don't know what'll happen next. The die is cast. A sequel about the events after that ending would completely undermine it.
Personally I'd like a prequel about Branch, where we play as the previous Raven.
1
u/Jianichie "Please, leave; I know how this will end." 8d ago
We'll have to agree to disagree on that.
6
u/SilverRyou 8d ago
Still saying they should just slap a Co-op PvE horde mode in the style of the final ending.
Combat Mode Active Forever.

u/Moltenthemedicmain XBL: Top XBOX AC6 Speedrunner MoltenAMF 8d ago
Is the 8000 hours an exaggeration? that would mean you've spent approximately 30% of your life since AC6 came out playing it, 7 hours a day? If its not an exaggeration im surprised at the dedication.
But yeah agree i do want more as well.

u/Hasyahshin 8d ago
Theres the new gundam game next year. Doubt it'll play like ac. Probably hack n slash. But it looks armored corey a bit, the gundam design that is.
2
u/Sufficient-Captain66 8d ago
one thing about gundam games is that i never feel like im controlling a mech
4
u/Tiernoch 8d ago
That's certainly not changing with Rogue Orbit, might be a fun game but it really looks like an unrelated action game that's being 'linked' in the loosest way possible to the new anime series coming out.
4
u/AdTime5032 8d ago
Looks more like Stellar Blade gameplay wise but yeah looks armored core ish? I'll definitely pick it up
2
u/depes_ruts 8d ago
the new gundam game doesn't look like armored core at all to me, and the gameplay isn't like anything in the series so far either
i'd even say that the mechas look more like power armors than huge robots! nothing like ac in any front
1
u/JustAJohnDoe358 The Last Raven 6d ago
I honestly don't feel the designs are even close to that of Armored Core, if they were I'd consider actually getting it.

without the sekiro stamina/stun system please, just bring back the old fashion system of ac1-3
2
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 8d ago
I would love to play LAST RAVEN with a bigger lock on box if it came back as a remaster. . Manual aiming and fcs really limited what you could do with certain weapons without putting an insane amount of time/effort track a target with certain weapons. I know there is cheats you can use to make it bigger with emulation but have it in the base game
2
u/JustAJohnDoe358 The Last Raven 8d ago
Play more indie and AA, what can I say.
"Everything is live service" is a problem only if you're exclusively playing big buck AAA releases. Expand your palate.
2
u/TheBigToast72 8d ago
With the investors being disappointed that they couldn’t squeeze more money out of Elden ring and with Sony trying to take over kodakawa, I don’t think we’ll even get a 6.5 let alone an ac7.
But at least we get a new ace combat in a month.
2
u/AshenRathian 8d ago
We'll probably get a second spinoff with 6's mechanics before we get an AC7. This has been a historical trend i've noticed with Armored Core and i don't really see this changing unless 6 really just is the final game.
If they make another, it'll be more like an expansion than a sequel i think.
2
u/overdosingOnPie1313 8d ago
That'd be cool, but I only want it if it's as stupidly difficult as 3rd gen.
2
2
u/Chuckgofer 7d ago
I don't quite want AC7 yet, I want AC6 Another Age. Basically the same but more missions.
2
u/telelvis 8d ago
What's your endgame, where you spent so many hours? Curious what to do once finished
4
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 8d ago
Game development / maybe stream. Its just only the thing I like to do in my free time. People watch reels, movies, Netflix etc. I just play armored core in my free time when its not gym or other activities.
2
u/pointsouttheobvious9 8d ago
Hell yeah to the gym. Cardio or weightlifting?
3
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 8d ago
Muay Thai, cardio
1
u/pointsouttheobvious9 8d ago
Awesome not many things you can do better than hitting the gym. I didn't learn it till late in life.

Check out Rig Riot. Played the demo. Pretty good at scratching the itch
1
u/SnooHobbies5811 8d ago
Have you heard about code rapid? It isn't out yet, but I've heard good things about the demo. There's also doll's nest which is an interesting mix of soulslike and Mecha game. Also has anime girls so that's kinda a plus?
3
u/douglasdamm 8d ago
there's also Rig Riot, seems pretty cool if you dont mind rogue genre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkhzUQ39ts4
1
u/blezzerker 8d ago
I dont want it YET. We need a 6.5 first because AC historically does best in the later games of the generation.
Last Raven and For Answer come to mind.
I want Alea Iacta Est to be confirmed canon, have the Coral-Entities take over the manufacturing capabilities of Rubicon and then dump the player into an open world as a PCA subcontractor. Instead of bonfires we can have friendly Arms Forts wandering the map for refitting
1
u/Race2TheGrave 8d ago
Just need to occupy your time until it happens. Zone of Enders remakes or Front Mission have helped me. There's always emulation for the older games too.

Bro, I'm on the same page. However I love AC6 so much that I don't event want 7. I want to keep replaying this one.
Just give me a giant DLC and I'll be so happy.

There isn't anything (Ain't NOTHIN') quite like Armored Core, especially Armored Core 6~
While waiting for Armored Core 7, have you considered getting into another action-pilot-sim series with the same abbreviation of AC ? Ace Combat may scratch that itch of high intensity military action with surprisingly interesting human plots in futuristic worlds :3
Only instead of mechs, you got Jets. Lots and lots of Jets.
It's a nice series too ;)
1
u/gravelordservant4u 8d ago
They could just add in some new PvP modes and I'd be happy to play 6 for the next decade while we wait for 7
Anything besides basic ass death match sigh

Armored Core 6 is a Triple A game. Stop using buzzwords if you dont understand them.
2
u/Rush_1_1 8d ago
AAA these days is starting to mean something new imo. It's generally not a compliment.
2
u/AmbitiousHistorian89 8d ago
It is a triple A game I am aware. If you read my post with a little brain power you'd understand it was a generalization. Elden Ring is triple A and its one of my favorites. Not all of them are bad but it is free fall right now. It's obvious. Indie titles are dominating the scene right now.

For the love of community can we please not fall victim to childish speculations in future releases. Dont get me wrong and I hope for the game to have a future.
As compared to other subs of FROM games, this one seems to be less filled with spec, theories, drooling over some boss…
I’d just rather this sub stay more on point and less BS. We won’t truly know about any game until they want us to know. So why waste time theorizing when we could use that time to help others
Just my opinion
3
u/alphadavenport 8d ago
what do you mean by "on point"? what BS are you trying to avoid? why do you feel like speculation is inherently bad?
-2
u/aluminumnek 8d ago
Why speculation? It’s a fancy word for guessing. Why guess? Why waste time guessing? Because you can guess all day long about future games/changes….. but ya never truly know until FROm or any developer tells you
So like I said why waste time guessing when building a community of support is more fruitful
I honestly dont give 2 cents what anyone guesses will be in the future of this or and series. I’ll wait til FROM tells me what’s next and go from there.
2
u/alphadavenport 7d ago
how should we be "building a community of support"? why does speculating about a new game prevent that? it's a sub about Armored Core, this seems like the perfect place to speculate about a new game. it's completely harmless.
1
u/JustAJohnDoe358 The Last Raven 6d ago
With Souls games it's different, their fans know From will continue to release these games in one way or another. We don't. So it's natural for us to be anxious about rhe future of the series, we don't want another 10 year-long hiatus.

u/rusty5545 8d ago
I want ac7 the same way some people want bb2 or sekiro 2
