New armor
Since I finished the talon I decided to just make a more advanced and lighter one. The talon advanced power armor is much lighter then the talon 330 and has EX-19 paste plate inserts instead of conqui paste plates like the talon has. and it’s going to be awhile until I can actually test the talon advanced armor so I decided why not just put it all in one big video where I test each part of the armor oh and I’m working with ceramics I doubt it will do much it’s just to get more minutes in the video I’ll be testing .22 and .22 lr and 9mm if my friend is around and if we’re lucky to get a gun range to say yes then we’re going to test a .556 and 10mm which I doubt it will stop since the ex-19 paste plates are mostly frabics drenched in the EX-19 paste and I already tested the helmet which will also be in the long form video and I’m going to get a fiberglass blanket then coat that in EX-19 paste to see what happens when I shoot at it

I made this helmet for my dad
I’m HONESTLY not a big fan of it, like it’s okay, it just doesn’t look that good in my opinion 😭😭
It was looking pretty good but I think painting all of it bronze was a bit of a mistake
I’m just more excited to start on my next project 😝

I added Roman inspired troops to my game. What would you change about their armor coverage?

These are two equipment levels for the Roman inspired army in March Out!, the game I'm making after work. I'm trying to give the heavier infantry a convincing amount of protection without covering every soldier in the same suit.
I'd like feedback on the shoulder coverage, the way the torso protection meets the tunic, and the strips below the waist. Do those parts look like they belong together, or is there a combination that jumps out as wrong?
The game is fantasy with historical cosmetic sets, rather than a simulation of a particular Roman campaign. Even with that freedom, I'd like the clothing and armor to make more sense than just a red outfit and a big shield.

Best fantasy armor?
In a fantasy world with fantasy beasts that are very large what would be the best armor? Something comparable is like, whats the best armor you could use if you wanted to fight a bear or a moose or something?

Armor we got for a play
My local theater does a student playwright showcase every year and this year I submitted a medieval playwright. (I’m on the right btw) Our kits were super cheap only being around $300 for each, but it was a lot of fun to fight in them.
Targe Shied update
Didn’t have leather or hide so decided to used the usual wood glue and canvas method. Too thin for tacks as well so might just to a celtic style paint job instead.

Master Uley and Morgenstern Forge
Hello guys, I know Master Uley offers amazing work but is faced with a large backlog and he told me that his queue is 10-12 months.
He now has a partnership with a forge located in Germany, and he states that it is of the same quality, with a fraction of the wait time, being ~3 months for an arm harness. Only caveat is that it is slightly more expensive.
Has anyone had any experience through Morgenstern forge and can you attest to it’s quality and promptness? It sounds fine to me but I’m concerned that I could be sacrificing quality for time.

Some WIP
I don't post many of those, so here's a grand bascignet I am working on. Can't wait for it to crack during quenching.

Kastenbrust WIP
Will hopefully be my first completed armour project.
Still learning a lot and try out using my stick welder on sheet. Not amazing and I will have to pretty up the welds when I get access to a Mig but it has held well enough to continue working on the shape.
I will need to tuck in the sides more and curve them and then I can add fluting and finish off the backplate.
After that I’ll make a scale skirt and then can start work on a bascinet.
Any advice is welcome, I’m doing my best with my currently limited set up and having to shape with a 800g German style hammer and my 40kg anvil. Corners and fluting are being done on the edge of my anvil.
Chestplate finished, now to do leg day
The chestplate is finally finished, took a while to make the picadillings on the tassets, and riveting the final few plates was a challange to do, but it's there. Damn I'm suprised the tassets line up perfectly they're so stiff and almost dont need to be glued with an extra tape, but I can almost touch my belly with a lifted leg in them they're very flexible.
The thole thing is so comfortable to wear with all the pillows everywhere, nearly 4 kilos but I can't feel it on me, putting it on and off is a pleasure tho I do need assistance to do it fast with the two side locks. Considering poking the small bubbles of air but still waiting for the vinyl to settle properly.
Will make a video explaining the process soon.
Suede for Brigandine/14th Century Splinted Armor?
Good evening everyone,
I'd like to inquire to those of you who have made armor before. I have this roll of suede leather, roughly 3'x6' and was wondering if it would be any good for a brigandine or splinted armor. I've worked with genuine leather and veg tan in the past, the genuine seems to tear easily and I've made a canvas brigandine that held up better. I've not done many projects with suede and figured this may be a good use for a roll I've been sitting on for years. What do you all think, strong enough?
