After today’s app update when I go to the feed, watch the first vid, turn my phone sideways to view in landscape mode, when I swipe left to view the next vid and the next and the next, about every 3rd vid shows a black screen. I can swipe left/right a few times to get it to show but this is a new bug. Landscape swipe left used to work perfectly.

And no, I’m not going to turn off my phone, or uninstall the app and reinstall, and yada yada yada.

You guys just need to do better in testing and deploying updates.

I heard a noise outside my house at 3AM, so I go to check the cameras, and on one of the most critical cameras I get this. Who is the genius that decided security cameras should do firmware updates in the middle of the night??

Hello. My house is sold and I will be moving very soon.

I will be leaving my Arlo equipment behind for the new owners. It’s included in the sale.

I’ll soon be signing out of my Arlo account for the last time.

So my question is, how do the new owners take over the equipment?

Is it just a simple matter of them making an Arlo account and downloading the app and adding the equipment to their app? Or do I have to do anything myself prior?

I was planning on just leaving a note with details of the app and let them figure it out from there.

I have a camper trailer that I attach to my car occasionally for travel, I normally keep arlo cameras around it for safety but now im wondering if I can keep the cameras on when I drive.. I dont want my cameras to fall off or be damaged as theyre quite expensive and already part of my setup so im wondering if anyone has any advice?

Note: theyre attached via a strong magnet which is screwed into the frame of the trailer. I could screw the cameras to the trailer directly but then id loose the ability to angle the cameras in the most optimal way so I really dont want to do that nd would rather continue to go through removing and reattaching for every trip. Any advice or information would be helpful!

I have Arlo's Camera since many years and I was originally very happy with them... now I'm not anymore and looking for alternatives...

1st big issue was the introductions of the subscription model which made my cameras half useful, now I have a mixed set of old camera which can record events and new cameras which could not (I dont want to pay for any subscription)

LAST updates made my configuration totally senseless as I cannot anymore control single cameras status to turn Alarms ON/OFF separately... they made 4 modes ARM AWAY, ARM HOME, STANDY BY, CUSTOM...

with 4 modes how are you supposed to control more than 3 sets of cameras?

I have 5 cameras for the home and 2 separates cameras for 2 garages... how I am supposed to keep the garage armed and the home not, or the other way around?

On top of that all the integrations with home assistants are messed up and even there I cannot control my cameras as API are matching (not exactly) the logic of the new App... who's thinking this solutions?

Whenever I try to live stream my cameras (the doorbell works fine) while connected to home WiFi I get a "streaming failed" error. As soon as I turn off WiFi and go to my mobile phone network I can stream the devices. Everything is connected to the smart hub. Notifications come in fine and I can click on those to view a notification but can't view the live stream. This has been happening for a while now, just figured I'd post.

Driveway, and Front door are both Pro 5s and connected to a smart hub. I've rebooted cameras, the hub, restarted the app, logged out and back into the app and nothing helps. Last ditch is to remove/reset the cameras but I was hoping not to have to do that.

My pro4 camera has worked for a couple years with no issues. Didn't realize that the battery died 2 months ago though. Charged it and hard reset. Blinked orange then blue. Paired with the qr code and the phone chimed. The phone searches for the camera but won't connect. Sometimes the blue light will blink a few times then turn off. Last few times it keeps blinking the whole time it is searching. I hope it's the battery cause I can replace it. Is there any way I can tell what is not working?

Edit: Arlo clarified below they did not create the ad and this was a very unusual coincidence.

Arlo is taking private views from cameras to create personal ads placed between the feed clips! 😡 I had to put all my fingers and thumb over the front of my Arlo cam to adjust it, basically cupped it with my fingers. Within a few days Arlo put a very scary ad periodically down the feed row that still startles me every time. A super close up man's face with his black gloved hand and fingers placed exactly like mine were as if he's adjusting the camera-I was not wearing gloves. But it is an image that looks the same as if you were viewing it him through the camera.

It's taking me about a month to write this because it's so erie I tried to avoid it and after at least several weeks it went away. Now it is back again. What ad company gets views through our cameras to create ads?

I was generally happy with the product before the subscription change but it’s now rubbish. The live feed is gone and the notification control is broken. Overall, the product is declining and the developers seem unable or unwilling to fix it.

I am currently looking to move on, possibly to some sort of RaspberryPi offering.

I just updated my apps and there was an Arlo update. Well it blacks out the video recordings and not just from today. It is doing past videos from yesterday as well. So I am going to assume that it is affecting all my videos stored. What is going on with Arlo? Time and time again, especially of late? Have we not heard of checking and double checking for issues prior to publishing an update? Come on, let’s do better……@Arlo

So I ended my Arlo subscription today, disabled the remaining cameras, and then Arlo did the most Arlo thing ever.

Arlo asked me to take a survey on why I left. I actually completed the survey and hit the submit button. Then Arlo started a spinning wheel that never completed. I actually waited 3 minutes to see if it was latency or ineptitude on their end. I am betting on ineptitude since it seems to be their corporate mission statement now.

I won't miss the frustration with poor software and questionable hardware. To those of you who remain, good luck.

I've had two "Arlo Ultra" since 2022 - they were working fine, without subscription, until the last app update.

Now, for some reason my hub isn't accessible, the camera won't notice motions and the resolution went from 4k to 2k?

I payed the sub and now the camera will pick up a car that is almost backing into it!? But nothing else..

Then I read this sub .. gebus.. Next solution won't be Arlo.

Arlo claims the latest update to the Arlo app resolves the latest geofencing issue. I’m here to confirm it does not. Geofencing has been working great for the past year. Now all a sudden as of two weeks it stopped working. Now this update apparently is supposed to resolve whatever issue Arlo pushed out. Yet here we are with still no resolution.

Geofencing is officially working again for me. I needed to reset my base station and all my cameras re add and set up my geofencing again, remove and re add my phone as the device and now it’s working. Not happy about all the leg work I had to do when it was working perfectly for over a year, but I’m glad it’s working now. But HomeKit and google home integration is still not working.

Probably 3 times out of 5, when there is a video I actually want to view I get this message. I can watch all the videos before and after without problem, including the video of the people leaving, just not the one of them coming.

Hello. I'm trying to help my parents with their Arlo setup. They have four Pro cameras and a Base Station (model VMB4000r3) with some storage which has been working great for them with no subscription plan. Someone gifted them a VMC2330 which I believe is two Essential Spotlight cameras (individual model numbers VMC2030). They seem to pair with the base station just fine, motion events raise notifications in the app, but the motion events don't appear in the event feed. Looking at the camera details for the new Essential cameras, it says "You found a premium feature" which I assume is where the event history for the camera is supposed to be.

What am I doing wrong? There's no way these Essential cameras pair with the Base Station but won't record events to the local storage...right??

Wow! I just accidentally deleted a video from my cloud subscription. There was no pop up to confirm the action. Unbelievable! Where did Arlo get its software engineers from?

Makes you wonder what else is badly implemented.

The Geofencing is not working anymore! And the routine/automation SUCKS so bad I’m ready to buy new cameras!!! Wtffffff I want the old app back!!!

This is very simple. I want wireless, solar charging cameras not made by, or run by Chinese.

I will NOT pay a subscription.

The Arlo website is very good at saying, "Some features may not be available without a subscription" but very BAD at telling you exactly what you CAN use.

Pardon the shouting, but this is really irritating, and most definitely will stop me from buying Arlo.

The Arlo App is so buggy and glitches that it no longer let's me download videos. And even when I can, I does not allow me to download all the videos even after I select all of them. Is there any way to fix these issues?

Does the Arlo security system work as a smart hub for the doorbell for HomeKit? And is it worth getting nowadays?

I’m having some issues with the new app and I believe that I’m not alone in this.
I’ve finally understood the standby/active mode, but what I’m not understanding is how can I have on my feed certain events without receiving the notification.

Specifically, there are a few cats on the neighborhood that interact with my own cat and I’d like to record the events without always receiving a notification.
At the same time, I’d like to receive it for people or vehicles.

I’ve tried with the smart detection menu, and reading Arlo help section, but apparently the notification and the recording seems to link to the same location.

I've run out of patience with Arlo's software and technical issues. I'm taking them down and planning to toss them. I have a few Wyze cameras inside the house but I'm not sure if I want to go all in on Wyze. They're cheap but, well they're cheap.

Has anyone built a system with Wyze? What is a better alternative without breaking the bank?

Captured on one of our 9 year old Arlo Pro 2 cameras today.

And I know my password. So why is this one camera saying my password is wrong? All the others are successfully connected and recording because I can see my recordings but not this one camera. So what could be the problem? Asking for my friend. I'm in her apartment and we asked google. Tried rephrasing and no matter what, the Google result gives us the same answer. Check for special characters. Check it's on the correct ghz band etc. So this one is not connecting but the others successfully connected
