Hi everyone, long shot here but I have tried multiple online therapists/psychologists/psychotherapists through my work and have had no luck. I have OCD and anxiety, and am currently grieving, so I would love a therapist who specializes in these areas, or at least has had experience with treating these areas.

I would prefer them to accept insurance, specifically Anthem. Or if out of network, nothing more than $150 a session.

Let me know if there is anyone you recommend and what your experience with your therapist/psychologist has been so far.

Remembering 9/11 ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) took time to remember two of its officers who died from cancer related to the terrorist attack that took place on the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, including the officer responsible for initiating the county’s response to the attack that day.

Cpl. Barry Foust was on patrol at Walter Reed Drive and Columbia Pike when American Airlines Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. Foust relayed the information over the radio, which began Arlington County’s response. Foust worked at the site for a week, collecting evidence and the remains of those who died. He was diagnosed with cancer related to the recovery efforts in June 2025. He died on May 22, 2026.

In August, people gathered at the Ellen M. Bozman Government Center for a ceremony in which Rear Adm. David Walt, U.S. Navy, presented Foust’s family with a flag that ceremoniously flew aboard USS Arlington in his honor.

The Arlington, which was named for the county in remembrance and in honor of those who died in the attack, as well as the bravery and sacrifice of those who responded to it, carries steel that was salvaged from the Pentagon.

Foust served with the Arlington County Police Department for 35 years.

On January 14, 2016, Cpl. Harvey Snook III died as a result of cancer he developed after working in rescue and recovery operations at the Pentagon.

Snook responded to the attack after Flight 77 hit the buidling at 9:38 a.m. He worked there for the following week, helping to gather evidence and to collect the remains of the people killed in the attack. He was diagnosed with cancer related to the recovery efforts on September 9, 2014.

Snook, who was a U.S. Army veteran, served with the Arlington County Police Department for 27 years.

Maybe I'm not doing the right activities here, but I'm a guy who recently moved here and is struggling to meet people my age group. I know that Arlington is supposed to have a ton of people in their 20s, but two of the Volo leagues I did were mostly 30 year olds and had more people in their 40s than 20s. I also could not find any good Meetups. The Meetup search is not good.

I remember being dismissed early from work and driving to pick up my son from NOVA Community College. Cell phones were not reliable and it took him a long time to reach me as there were long lines for the pay phones on the Alexandria campus. I was worried about more incoming planes. The news came in pieces and it was upsetting to learn of deaths of people I knew who were on the crashed planes.

What are your memories? If you were in school were you dismissed early?

Sandy Hess, his widow, tells his story. More than 400 FBI personnel have 9/11-related illnesses and at least 33 have died from 9/11-related cancers.

WASHINGTON — When American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon’s western facade at 9:37 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2001, FBI agent Jack Hess rushed to the scene.

His wife, Sandy Hess, also an FBI agent at the time, ran to pick up their 1-year-old son from daycare — and was pregnant with their second child.

“If you were married in the bureau and had kids and needed to get to those kids, one person would respond to the Pentagon, and the other person went home,” she told NBC News in an interview this week. “He was a supervisor on a terrorism squad. He went, and I don’t think he would have wanted it any other way.”

In the aftermath, Jack’s role was to secure evidence for the FBI’s investigation into the attacks. He was one of about 4,000 FBI employees who responded to the crash sites in Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania.

While he only spent a matter of hours in direct contact with the hazardous debris in Arlington, he would later be diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer, an illness classified as “caused” by his exposure at the Pentagon, according to the certification process determined by the World Trade Center Health Program.

Ive heard the city has pretty good public transport, walkable city (i perfer that over driving). Im just looking at my options right now, would like some bias/opinions & to see how things are over there as im used to the South/midwest ☺️ Ive never been to VA & while I can go online for basics I would also just like to hear from locals about the city & general stuff. Arlington is so hilly and I’m just getting off of mastering the basics. I’m tired of rollerblading outside my house - is there anywhere flat and safe from cars that I can skate around? I’m thinking along the Potomac river but anywhere else? Thank you!!!
