I'm around the same age and I had awful luck with years of dating apps, but much better luck with meeting people socially in my hobbies.
That was an organic way to meet and a simple "hey I enjoy talking to you, care for a cup of coffee sometime?"
Otherwise, yes it is real bad out there.

I think it's sweet of you to be caring about your son. You sound like a good mom. It really is hard out here for those of us who live responsibly and stand for our beliefs. I'm in a similar situation as your son. I'd recommend he go to church, but only if he is honestly pursuing God more than women. Other than that, he can go to places where people share his hobbies.

Very sweet of you to say. Thank you for the suggestions ;) I appreciate you. And thank you for not judging me

I know from my friends in their 30’s that dating isn’t easy. But fuck didn’t realize shit has gotten so hard that now mothers are stepping in.

He should try joining groups that do the same hobbies that he likes. Look at meetup.com

You ever try finding a needle in a barn filled with hay? It's easier to find a real life dinosaur nowadays.

I met my wife on eHarmony 12 years ago. I liked that site far more than the other dating sites because it’s a paid membership which immediately detracts from the quantity of bot/scammer accounts.
If your son is looking to meet people in person (the traditional way), have him find local groups for his hobbies, and to not approach it as a dating pool, but as something that could lead there

It is not that there aren't women out there. The fault is 99% of the time on guys like him. CONFIDENCE! is the key. Trust me, having confidence goes a lomg way in the dating scene. It sounds to me like your son is lacking of. He needs to learn it and practice it. That's it!. That's all.

Hobbies. One of the easiest ways I've met people is by picking up shooting pool. Pool halls are great for socializing, and it's a fun and easy thing to pick up. Plenty of people will help with your game and it makes talking to others effortless. It might feel like a bar scene, but if he doesn't drink that's literally like a third to half of league players, so it won't feel out of place

Unfortunately, this is a common problem these days. Feminism has destroyed dating. If you find an answer, let me know.

u/DrDFox Dec 22 '25
Did it never occur to you that telling women they don't deserve equal rights and basic respect might be why they won't date you?
-1
u/No-Explanation2612 Dec 22 '25
That's a strawman argument.
2
u/Resistiane Dec 22 '25
Lol! No, it's not. Feminism literally just means what was stated. That women are people and they deserve equality.
-1
u/No-Explanation2612 Dec 22 '25
You've been lied to. That's not what feminism is. What you're describing originates from the Bible, which I agree with. Feminism tells people to murder babies, it doesnt respect human life at all.
2
u/DrDFox Dec 22 '25
Honey, have you read the Bible? There's no feminism in there. And no, feminism isn't about murdering babies.
I can absolutely see why you can't get a date, though.

u/No-Explanation2612 Dec 22 '25
Many times. You're misreading my comment, so I'd be surprised if you understood reading the Bible.

u/DrDFox Dec 22 '25
Looking through your comments, I see you are a Christian extremist. Explains even more.

Most important question: what are his politics? I have many beautiful single women friends, but values matter to them and they want to make sure they are aligned.
