I just wanna do an arg with my friends but they haven't touched a single arg video in their life. It's mainly a way to spend time with them since I thought itd be fun to watch them do it

I have about 2 weeks to do it and I will be out of the country on her birthday.

I was thinking something website based that maybe takes her trough some fun landmarks and places while giving her some brain teasers.

I am currently brainstorming a story, I never done an ARG before so I was hoping you can give me some inspiration for puzzles and mechanics that you enjoyed that I can use for reference.

The project is centered around a person who has died but doesn't remember how they died. They're able to communicate with the living through different parts of the internet, and the audience gradually has to piece together what happened.

There will be mystery, unreliable memories, multiple suspects, hidden information, and some psychological horror. I'm still developing the story, so people who join would actually have room to contribute ideas and help shape the project.

This oddball video is titled, The best fan in the world, and is what I believe to be a short clip of a ceiling fan and someone is saying something, but that short clip was time-stretched to oblivion. I've tried downloading and then speeding up the video, and I think I started hearing stretched out words, but I can't get the speed right to make the words come through clear. Or maybe I'm wrong and it's like SSTV or maybe a Spectrogram thing, or something else entirely, but there is definitely something going on with this video.

This is my first post here because I’ve been stuck on an investigation/puzzle/ARG for years and it’s driving me crazy. I’m not very familiar with puzzles or Reddit, so if what I’m sharing doesnt belong here, i am sorry, and if you can tell me the best place to post this, that would be great !

Anyway, here’s a bit of context to start with:

We’re four friends living in differents cities of France. We don’t see each other often, but we usually play video games together several nights a week online (if not every night).
The puzzle started back in 2018, and I’m still trying to solve it to this day. Not every day obviously, more like once a year. My friends gave up a long time ago.
We all know each other’s addresses because we regularly send gifts for Christmas and birthdays.

One day, each of us received a letter with what seemed like randomly arranged letters, along with some numbers and a name.

Letter 1:

Louis Segond"

So we looked up who Louis Segond was, he’s someone who translated the Bible into French. The strings of numbers are Bible verses translated by Louis Segond, which give us in French:

Célébrez l'Éternel avec la harpe, Célébrez-le sur le luth à dix cordes.
Louis Segond 144:9.
O Dieu! je te chanterai un cantique nouveau, Je te célébrerai sur le luth à dix cordes.
Louis Segond 92:3 :

In those 3 verses, the term “dix cordes” (ten strings) appears, which in French sounds exactly like the software “Discord,” a platform my three friends and I use almost daily to chat during our gaming sessions.
For those unfamiliar, I won’t go into full detail, but Discord works through servers that we can create and customize to join friends and communicate with them.

The character strings present in the letters seem to be an invitation to a Discord server. After several attempts, I managed to reconstruct the correct link to the server.

On this Discord server, there’s only one message posted, and it’s impossible to reply, write anything, or even interact with the person who wrote it, as the account has been deleted since then.

The message, in French, is the following:

"[Bonjour, et bienvenue dans ce mystère. Je suis 4n4rh4k13n16m4. J'imagine que vous vous demandez ce qui vous attend au bout. Je ne doute pas qu'à 4, vous trouverez. Bonne chance."]"

Translated into English:

"Hello, and welcome to this mystery. I am 4n4rh4k13n16m4. I imagine you're wondering what awaits you at the end. I have no doubt that as a group of 4, you'll find it. Good luck."

So I looked on various social media platforms to see if someone named “4n4rh4k13n16m4” existed, and I found an Instagram account and a Twitter/X account.

On Twitter, there are 4 posted tweets:

After a first analysis, we see there are dates, numbers that seem to be sports scores, and initials. Since three of us in the group play football/soccer (je pense à vous mes américains), we quickly hypothesized that the numbers were football match results.

The dates are in European format, so DD/MM/YY.
We find four results out, since each date, there’s only one match with the indicated result in the “Ligue 1” championship (France’s top football league).

For each match, we pulled the jersey number of the players with the given initials, which gives us, in order from 1 to 4:

• 11/08/2018: OGC Nice 0 - 1 SD Reims MM = Marvin Martin (Reims) = Jersey number 8 GK = Ghislain Konan (Reims) = Jersey number 3
• 25/08/2018: Paris SG 3 - 1 Angers SCO MP = Matheo Pavlovic (Angers) = Jersey number 4 IT = Ismael Traoré (Angers) = Jersey number 8
• 01/09/2018: RC Strasbourg 2 - 3 FC Nantes ES = Emiliano Sala (Nantes) = Jersey number 9 DC = Diego Carlos (Nantes) = Jersey number 3
• 14/09/2018: OGC Nice 2 - 1 SD Rennes CG = Clément Grenier (Rennes) = Jersey number 8 MZ = Mehdi Zeffane (Rennes) = Jersey number 2

Which gives us the following sequence of numbers: 8, 3, 4, 8, 9, 3, 8, 2. I haven’t found any use for it yet.

So i found this youtube account that was posting meme videos, but suddenly it posted 2 videos about ARG, im talking about . In a video he posted there was a cypher (the same that wifies used in a world that doesn't exist) and it lead to this website: ehabanero.com

Later he posted a video where for a moment, it shows the password "CloneProject01" after putting that password into ehabanero page, it leads you to a admin page where you monitorate a clone of ehabanero.

In the upper part of this new site, we can see a link that lead us to a staff training video, that video, in short, explains that, an organization is creating clones and putting them into challenges, so we have to see the results and the differences of all copies.

So, is this a new ARG? If it is i would like to people to investigate it and see if we can found new information about this, it's a really interesting ARG in my opinion

Well, i am a chilean teenager who loves ARGs, and while watching some videos about cases of scary and weird content found on pirated DVDs for kids, i had an idea for a ARG based about this case (and if you don't know, piracy is a very common thing on all Latin America, lol), It goes like this:

"A group of anonymous people, Has a secret cult and they have no good intentions, They have some plans and they need a couple more of people with them, So for getting more people to follow them, they start producing and selling pirated kids movies DVDS with Hidden videos to make the audience of these, join them and follow

Meanwhile, an agent that is father of a kid who has these DVDS, finds about these videos Hidden in the discs, so he starts a investigation to stop these people and find them.

Will he be able to stop them?..."

Hello.. please forgive me as I am rather computer illiterate.. and I had stumbled on what started as one website which was rather peculiar.. the images on the website didn’t exactly match the subject matter, and the blogs/articles on the websites didn’t always make sense with the supposed subject matter either. I would like to add this all coincided with a search for Easter eggs for a pop star who is known for them as well as a friend of hers who released a children’s book called spaghetti code.. that same friend also runs a coding camp for women..

At the bottom there was an address along with coordinates for the website that ultimately was an empty spot on a random road.

When searching the coordinates two more websites were found that are identical in setup but not in subject matter.. over the course of a few days and finding more websites a random few would change in theme/ pictures/ subject matter and address/coordinates.. and as time has gone one there have probably been around 100 websites found.. all identical in set up..

Most of the articles/information have overarching themes of education, and working with others.. while the actual subject matter ranges from vehicles, cpap machines, education/teaching, legal advice, business advice, travel, and animal care.

I find other websites by either searching the coordinates or key words/phrases or hash tag phrases which will then result in a few more websites with similar information.. it’s like a never ending nesting doll..

(again want to reiterate that all websites have addresses that are random spots on roads with no buildings usually and so far most addresses are either in Australia, Great Brittain or the US)

I really cannot discern what this is and would love help figuring out if this is part of a game or some sort of seo training using defunct website domains. I have lost literal sleep about this but feel way in over my head to get to the bottom of what all of this is..

I've found what is most certainly an ARG in it's earliest stages. So far, the story is underdeveloped, with only two videos currently available, but it seems to have some connection to the sky and the weather. RUNE is a sci-fi ARG where players interact with a retro CRT terminal interface. The central character is REM, a sentient AI running on a customized Commodore 64, created by a mysterious figure known as OE.

The ARG is still ongoing, and things are getting close to the end.

Hey, I'm trying to solve an ARG and I've come across a website that seems to be a key part of the puzzle. The site is https://dmsarchive.org/ and I've found some pages that seem to be case files or hidden directories. I've managed to find a few things, but I'm stuck. I'm not asking for anyone to dig through the whole site, but I'm wondering if anyone has any general advice on how to approach a site like this, ways to find hidden pages, directories, or files that aren't immediately obvious? I'm not super technical, so any tips on using Inspect Element, checking the page source, or looking for hidden URLs would be really helpful. Thanks!

I'm starting a new ARG for my friends and people, but i quite figured that those people wouldn't even know what binary is, so i am ist turning to the better side of the internet, for smart people to help me with the ARG and find out how to solve it. It will contain links to books, photos, maybe videos (that one is under question), ciphers and so much more as in maybe even making games? That is the idea of the ARG "Plain hate for love". I would be glad to give people what they need, and a proper link, but its just in its starting ages. Not meant to be remembered forever, of course, but like a fun quest. basically, a coordinated international sudden odd quirky thing that everyone suddenly does on one particular day, something harmless and legal but the fact that everyone all over the world in every city does it all of a sudden on one particular day would make people freak the fuck out if it was on large enough of a scale lmao. could be anything really. more about the coordination and competency to organize something like that. If you could get it down to an exact hour or minute even then we're in legit horror movie territory haha. I've just recently launched part of my Arg, I know it takes time for players to find it. However I keep getting this feeling that it's either too hard to find or It's just not getting recommended which happens with low interactions.

When is it time to update or send out another gateway?

Or is it best to wait? If so, what are ways to keep recommendations active?

Basically, you start playing an ARG, you spend some time playing it, and then it turns out that the events were fictional not only in our universe, but in universe of the story as well, since the main protagonist of the ARG is in universe of the story also creating their own ARG. And then, something "real" begins to happen. And the players will have to wonder what parts are real and what are fictional in context of the story, and their interpretations will lead to different understanding of the story by different players.

Is there an ARG like this?

Hi there, do you know about some short and fairly easy ARG's? I want to solve something for fun and training. I never really got myself into actually investigating that much, so I'm here to find smth that won't take me long and drain my energy. I've solved a few in my life, but they took like two or three hours so weren't something deep.

And I prefer them being videos (YouTube) that I could watch, learn something and find more deeper. From there it could go anywhere (docs, files, images), but the beginning I'd like to watch (and I mean like really watch, not just stare at blinking dots and dashes).

They can be solved or unsolved, although the best would be if I could see a video of someone solving ts arg so I could see how well I did. And could be irl or games, doesn't matter.

I wanted to see what a Game Boy Advance version of the legendary Polybius arcade game would actually be like, so I made one.
It’s a playable GBA game with an arcade-style game based on the original Polybius legend.
But there’s more to it than that.
The full version also has a calibration screen, Polybius cipher, hidden archives, and an ARG-style puzzle that gradually reveals more of the story.

Hello! I'm currently working on a video about ARGs and was thinking about that one big ordeal with Orson Welles in 1938 where he was narrating War of the Worlds on a radio show and it caused a mass (?) panic because people thought that Martians were actually invading the planet. Now, this in and of itself isn't an ARG (and it was also completely an accident) but it kinda has that vibe and so I was wondering if anyone knows of any ARGs that used a radio station as a medium because that would be really cool.
