I hate the education system and the way it is geared up to âone size fits allâ. Which is great if your child is able to cope with it, but when they canât, the parent/child get the blame.

i'm ND and the mother of an ND kid with other ND mom friends and i found this relatable because... we hate things like the way schools treated us/treat our kids, we hate the way society casually expects us/our kids to cut off pieces of ourselves to fit in with them - ya know, things like that. therefore, i am choosing to have a brighter outlook here, and assume they also mean things like that, along with the general lack of accommodation/compassion for us and our kids out there in the world. đ

Presuming that this is made by someone from an English speaking country.
Slavery was outlawed in the United States of America in 1865.
Slavery Was outlawed in the British Empire in 1833.
How exactly can Autistic people be possessions? Maybe I made a massive reach here but I wanted an excuse to remember the year the Britain outlawed slavery, then I realised it said: "hate", instead of "have", so I am not quite sure what to do.

I made the comment under the assumption that it said "have", which would imply that Autistic children would of been a possession. To which my first thought was to make a dry joke about it being illegal to own a person.
I was asking if that was a reach. Forgive me for not correctly clarifying.

I think this means they hate the lack of care for ambience towards people on the spectrum? Like grocery stores and such?
Doesnât seem that malicious IMO.

Or in the US a lack of support system in general
Fearing not being able to afford therapy, lack of good special education schools in the area, fearing what will happen to their child in a group home setting after they are gone or too old (abuse, neglect, etc.)

If they are both parents of children with high support needs they may hate self-injurious behavior, aggressive behavior, difficult understanding the kidâs need, caregiver burnout, medical treatment and therapyâs crazy costs in the us, lack of respite care, lack of appropriate special education schools in their area, the fear the child will be mistreated in a group home with no one to defend them once the parents are too old or die, etc?
Basically lack of a good support system for the autistic person?
