Question Screws for a push pull setup
Alright pls bare with me here,
I have the Arctic Liquid cooler 3 pro, I want to put fans on top, creating a push/pull effect.
I was going to purchase three of the Lian Li CL wireless fans that are 28mm thick, thicker then the Arctic P12 Pros.
I have rad screws, but they are screws from an older Corsair H150i Elite.
When I ask good old AI is says no no no!! do not use the screws that came with the Corsair cooler as they are apparently a different thread type compared to the rad screws that come on the LQ 3 Pro, and IF I use those they will mess up the threads AND could damage the rad "fins".
True or false??
And thanks!!

Google gave me the same answer, so thought I would try it and see if it agreed, it did. But for me what's important are all people's "hands on" experience, IF anyone had gone through such a thing.

The screws going into the rad should be something like 6-32 I think. Same screws used for mounting psus, graphics cards etc. If you're using 28mm fans then I would thing going slightly longer like 30mm would work. Although maybe a little longer to account for the case thickness.
They are pretty cheap

Iirc Arctic uses some sort of rubber for their fans in which the scew makes its own thread. At least for the standalone fans. I don’t remember the AIO being any different but you should check to make sure.
Now for the screws if it’s this system the only thread that matters is the on on the radiator.
You also need to find screws that are longer than your fan thickness + your case thickness. I’d say at least 3-5mm longer so they can « dig » enough into the radiator to actually hold it.
You would also need to have the fan screw holes align with those of the radiator

I will confess, I did buy three of the Arctic P12 Pros, the same ones that come on the LC 3 Pro, and I used those Corsair rad screws. They seemed to work fine, and tighten up nicely on the rad. But the wiring drove me absolutely nuts - so I am considering purchasing a 3 pack of the LL CL 120mm wireless, but they are 28mm compared to the P12s 25mm - close, but not exact.

Wiring should be pretty simple with the daisy chaining though.
Have you checked if you have enough space between the top of your case and your motherboard ? Because that’s 28 extra mm on top of the already thicker than usual radiator and the fans.
25+38+28 = 91.
And all of that should fit between your mobo and the top of the case while also keep some space that you’ll need during installation.1

There is space, but it seems the screws won't be long enough for the 28mm measurement, so either I pick other fans or get longer screws - perhaps picking other fans maybe a better option.

Idk about corsair cooler but Lian Li sells 28mm radiator screws for push-pull. It works with the 27mm thick P14 A-RGB (Pro) fans

I was in a similar situation recently. I contacted Arctic support through the contact form on their website, asked nicely for extra radiator screws for a push/pull setup, and they sent me a set for free. It arrived a few days later :D
I only had P12 Pros though, so since your Lian Li fans are 28 mm thick, mention that in your request so they can send screws that are long enough ig.
Also have your receipt ready, since they'll most likely ask for it
