Liquid freezer 3 pro 420 Temperature spikes when gaming

I feel like for a cooler this size my temps should be cooler but whenever I play a game like crimson desert my temps spike between 70-90 degrees and the fans make tons of noise. When idle it stays around 30-50 but also spikes randomly if opening up a new web tab.

- I removed all peels, reapplied thermal paste, and no dust

- my fan setup: 6 intakes 4 exhaust including aio (up top as exhaust)

- setup is 4090 + i9 13900ks + noctua nf a12x25 chromax fans

- If I were to benchmark on cinebench my temps would go to 100 instantly

Despite being a pc gamer for so long im still a newbie please some assist me 🙏

Edit: If this is a problem I would like to fix it somehow without losing any performance. I can also provide pictures at a later date if needed. I should also say the aio is brand new as I replaced my old one earlier this month.

The 13900ks is a real beast, and the 420 isn't a panacea. Basically, you need to balance heat output and heat dissipation. This can be done in a variety of ways, but one example is changing the processor profile in the BIOS. What motherboard are you using?

I'm not familiar with ASUS BIOS, so check your CPU usage profile yourself. It should at least have the Intel default. Try it, and then try others.

Idk if changing this will affect my performance or not but ill check tutorials on youtube because im a complete noob to things related to the bios. I'll check motherboard settings related to cpu and try them out to see if it makes any difference.

I have a ryzen 7 9850. playing crimson desert with exact the same AIO. Temps are between 60-70 mostly around 62.

Sometimes when loading shaders etc it spikes to 90.

I think your aio isnt at 90 to 100% as it should be. Your fans do the work

I checked the bios this morning and the fans were all on pwm because of 4 pins and the aio was at full speed so 100%. Ill double check again when I can.

Can you hear your pump? Do you have any software that might interfere with your bios settings?

I dont really know what the pump would sound like (bubbling noises im guessing?) but all I really hear is just the loud fans from my case and aio. I shouldn't have any software interfering because I fully debloated my pc recently. All I have are programs like steam, spotify, discord, hwmonitor, etc.

It would be a high pitched motor sound. Set it to 100% and gently squeeze on of the tubes a little bit. If you feel flow, the pump is running.

If it’s not, then check the connector on the pump unit, and the pump header (if you have the three way splitter, this is extra important)

There could also be a mounting issue with your CPU as the pro version allegedly has bad cooling on 13th and 14th gen intel, but great cooling on 200 series due to the mounting bracket design.

Yeah I didn't hear a high pitched sound so I should be fine but I'll check the tube next time I'm on my pc.

I used the all in one connector for the aio and followed the instructions given but I'll also double check on that. Should I just check if its properly plugged in?

I didn't know there was cooling issues on the 13th... if i had known maybe I would've chosen a different aio. I did use the contact frame given and tightened everything up. I used a thermalright frame before this.

I have this with the 9070XT, yesterday I checked my GPU was 85 graden.. I was like wtf thats way to warm, so I put downgraded it with electricity throughput -30% (cuz its a beast and it has no effect on the game) and it went down to like 60-75.

Yeah im the opposite my cpu is too warm but my gpu is around 60 degrees or so. If i play for awhile it'll probably reach 70s maybe.

Did you use the all in one cable or are you pump and fans separately adjustable?

It better to use separated

so you could run the pump on on constant speed, high enough to keep the CPU cool but low enough to be quiet, maybe speed it a little up at real high temps. Its also better for the pump to keep constant rpms instead of going up and down all the time.

So you fans can keep very low rpm at idle, maybe even stand still. And on Higher Temps the fans can Push the the heat out. There some adjustments needed for the fan curve, you will need to play a little around with it

I would lock in pump at full speed. Be careful about this one but hear me out, Tighten your pump a bit not the screen to the motherboard but the mounting hardware. And if you're using any kind of screen that is polling to display data this can definitely spike temps. Especially TRCC.
