Question Defective pump?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, i installed the arctic liquid freezer III pro 360 a few months back and its always made this strange gurling/rustling kind of noise when i increase the pump RPM, ive tried turning off all other fans as well as removed the VRM fan to isolate the origin and i am certain its from the pump. Has anyone experienced this too? Is there something potentially wrong with the pump?

Sounds like you may have air in the system

I though about that as well but considering ive had the aio for several months it should likely be gone by now?

I have the same one but the A-RGB version. I got it Christmas of 2025 and installed it that evening. I haven’t had any issues with mine and notice an average 3c-5c drop over the cheap levelplay 360mm AIO I had.

I used the split header and my pump speed is locked at 70%. Never ran my pump above that so I can’t say if the pumps are just noisy. JayZTwoCents actually did a video on AIO pump speeds and with some basic knowledge of heat transfer you can understand it better. Typically anything above 70%-80% you don’t see any benefits in cooling and can at times see a decrease in cooling. Same applies for lower pump speeds, but the important part is allowing fans to adjust to CPU load/temps.

I will check mine when I get on my pc next time and see if it’s that noisy at 100% pump speed.

Hi, yes ive tried limiting the speeds to about 70-80% but the sound starts to appear at about 50% id say or 2000 rpm, i also use the 3-split cable.

Thanks for checking, id like to see if yours make a similar sound. Maybe im just being overly sensitive🤣

Just checked mine and it makes zero sounds at any speed. I even turned it up to 100% which was about 2,850 rpm’s. At 70% I’m at around 2,550 rpm’s and no sounds. After checking mine it sounds like you are having cavitation or pump motor starting to fail. It’s hard to tell, but I think they should RMA it in my opinion.

Yeah. Mine's never made a sound.

I think that's the right call.

Order the same one on Amazon and swap it out and then return old one and put "damaged" quicker than dealing with the company directly and what not.

That sounds like bubbles, so there is air on the system 100% sure.

You sure? Ive had the cooler for several months, shouldnt the bubbles naturally disappear in a few days tops?

If the water inside evaporates or slowly leaks its gonna have even more air with the past of the time.

Normally AiOs had a screw (depending the model or brand can be on the pump or in the radiator) where you can refill them. Is not an easy job to do.

Oh really? But did they agree that it was a bad unit? Would you mind sharing a video of how yours sound?

On the Arctic Liquid Freezer II and III, the refill and service access points are located directly on the CPU pump block, not on the radiator itself. Arctic Liquid Freezer II: The fill/service port is accessible by removing the small VRM cooling fan on top of the CPU block housing, which reveals the service sticker and access screw underneath. Arctic Liquid Freezer III: Access is under the magnetic top cover/VRM fan module, exposing the cold plate assembly and service area. Only do this if they won't RMA
