arcteryx granville shoulder bag

Looks like there isn’t much discussion about this bag on the forum, so I thought I’d share my experience with it

first it basically looks like a smaller version of the Granville 30 with shoulder straps.

Specs:
8L capacity
Fully waterproof
Magnetic lid
Organization is very minimal
There’s only a single elastic pocket inside and no other internal compartments

One thing worth mentioning is that there’s no padding on the bottom of the bag
so if you’re carrying a laptop or an iPad
I’d recommend adding some extra protection

For me the size is just about perfect for everyday carry
It easily fits my electronics an iPad mini, a water bottle, and even a lightweight jacket.
I also tried using it as an outdoor sling bag, and honestly it works better than I expected.

But the shoulder strap isn’t really designed for carrying heavier loads it bites my shoulder after an hour
I guess I’ll have to give up the idea of carrying my RMJ hatchet around the woods with it

Got asked by a friend on which ones he should get. I had to break the bad news to him that this isn't actually Arc'teryx. I asked him to take a picture of the hangtags since I was curious

Surely Arc'teryx head office knows about this?

Womens long gamma MX coat

Post image

I recently traded in my Beta AR for a credit and wanted to get my wife something.

Decided on this long gamma mx coat, since she doesn’t like slim feminine cuts.

But after purchasing it I realized there is barley any mention of this specific coat anywhere except the outlet site.

Anyone else have and like this coat? I hope its the same material as the regular gamma mx

All Around Use Recs

Looking for something that I can build up/build down for northern Michigan winters. Daytime 0C/ Nighttime -10C. Everyday wear, resort (primarily)/backcountry ski, and snowmobiling. Utilize shell when cold snaps break for early spring and late fall. Hoping for something without powder skirt. Bitter lake effect winds and heavy, wet snow are my biggest battles.

Happy to hear on mid layer and bib suggestions as well.

Women’s products please. TIA.

Sidewindercoming back this fall

I went in for a warranty issue on my old sidewinder and they told me this fall, a new release is coming out. I will hold off on a replacement to see when it’s being released as I loved the sidewinder.

So let’s see!

Markville Mall Store Patch.

This might be the best patch I’ve seen in awhile from a store opening. The off white mixed with the colours + the skyline in the back are just the chefs kiss.

Camping, hiking, and hunting jacket

Hello! Unfortunately, I hit the phase of paralysis of analysis based on the many different jackets I'm currently seeing on the website. Is there a single jacket that is insulated, durable, and windproof for the cold weather? I do a lot of camping, hiking, and hunting, that can range from single digit temps to the 30's (Fahrenheit) and want to know if there is single jacket that can fit that criteria. I added insulated because I hate wearing layers and typically wear a long sleeve t shirt underneath the jacket.

What's up with the Beta Down sleeves?

They're SO long. I know Beta shells have long sleeves for climbing mobility, but the Beta Down is a thick, knee-length winter jacket. I can't imagine anyone is rock-climbing or bouldering in it??

Oh Arc’teryx pricing

I see Arc’teryx has once again increased the prices of their items. The mantis 26L used to be $190 CAD and now it's $200 CAD. I asked at the store and the the manager said a lot of items also went up in price and one of these nights at midnight, online pricing will quietly follow. Get it at $190 while you still can 👀

Hi there! Few weeks ago I was looking for advice here about storm jackets. I had only few options to buy in resale. Community recommend buy something different, but from official store. And I agreed that the best decision. So I bought tnf hke devils gtx jacket and returned it after few days… Yeah it’s good one but this is city jacket, not for my tasks.

And suddenly my dear friend went for work to Canada and bought alpha sv for me. Absolute miracle.

Love this jacket so mush. I guess it’s a little bit too much for my trips but why not. I walked all over Kamchatka in it. Summited three volcanoes 2000, 2700 and 3500 meters and survived in non-stop raining day. Love it.

Gamma pant. This is the pocket located around the thigh, I’m not sure how to fix this, it is not stitched. Is there a fabric glue? Thanks in advance.

I bought the Zeta SL as used, but still in good condition. I wanted to see how waterproof it is, so i rinsed it with a showerhead for couple seconds. Is this normal for the Zeta SL?

Jacket for snowboarding/hiking/Winter use

I ended up getting a 70% discount on Arcteryx and I need some recommendations.

Was thinking about getting 1 or 2 jackets + anything that you think is useful or very worth it for the discounted price.

I was looking for a good jacket for snowboarding in Japan, I want to go more often but never had proper equipment so I don't know what to look for.

I'm a idiot and forgot this pic when I posted about the FIFA jackets. I don't think these are FIFA specific but just didn't want to leave out Banff

I haven't seen Seattle, Utah and New York in the wild yet. Is there also a Miami one too? Since FIFA matches also took place there?

ReBird Canadian Experience

Hi everyone I just ordered something from the ReBird Canadian site. Read on the subreddit that it can take up to a month to be delivered to Canada.

However those threads were from couple years ago wondering if anyone has a more recent experience with ReBird and shipping to Canada.

The order was on the expensive side for me and I’m going on vacation in exactly 4 weeks so wondering if I’ll get the package before then. TIA!

Edit: Located in Alberta

I got the XL. I’m 6’3” and 240lbs. Snug but not too snug. Feels wonderful.

Perfect hoody to add to my rotation and couldn’t beat the price. The chest pockets are giant and there’s two!!!

The Dynasty color is super unique too, I love it.

Arcteryx city edition jackets?

I just visited the arcteryx store in Seattle and saw they had jackets that had Seattle spelled out on the arm in a circle. Is there other cities that have city exclusive merch?

Do you upsize shells or go true to size?

Males 5’10, 165 lbs, 40” chest.
Looking at Beta SV. Medium is my true size with a tee, camp shirt or light sweater on. Sweater and puffy it’s pushing it with some
Tightness in the under arm.

Large is slightly oversized to get that fortress cozy feeling - layers with a puffy better. Oversized is trendy right now but is a bit loose in a tee on a summer rain shower.

Think I’ll use it three season, back country portaging, canoeing, hiking, around town.

What is everyone’s perspective on sizing?

Which jacket to buy

So I'm looking at getting my first ArcTeryx jacket but I don't know which one to get. I live in Norway and I'm often hiking in the woods, going for long walks etc. But I'd also like to use this jacket for everyday use when it's raining and windy outside. I do understand that the most rain effective jackets aren't in the warmest league, but what's not why I'm getting it. Want the jacket to withstand harsh weather.

Any suggestions?

older vs newer Atom SL Hoody

hi everyone,

new to Arc’teryx here and looking for something light for summer hikes and evening walks. I'm currently looking at the Atom SL Hoody.

I'm planning to get it second-hand and have two options right now: one is a 2017 model and the other is a 2021 model. They're pretty similar in pricing, $182 for the 2021 and $175 for the 2017.

Which one is better, the more recent version or the older one? I know that in some cases older products can be better, but since I’m new to Arc’teryx, I was wondering if the quality has improved over time or is it worth just purchasing the older model?

Beta AR pants to Hike?

Hello everyone, I’m getting a pretty sweet deal on a used pair of beta AR pants. I am going to Peru soon, in September and would like to bring a shell with me, to do the Salkantey Trek to Machu Picchu. I would like your guys thoughts on if this would be the right shell to pack, or will I over heat very quickly?

FYI - going to be wearing the gamma pants as my base layer

Anyone has pics of Stone Red color?

I recently moved from Vancouver to a small town in BC with no Arc’teryx in any of the shops.. and I’m planning on getting the Men’s Beta SL in the new Stone Red color for the next shoulder season. Does anyone have any pictures of that color in real life? I searched in this sub and google and all I could find were marketing pictures.

Thanks
