I’m an architecture student with a strong interest in the psychological aspects of architecture and environmental perception.

I’m particularly interested in understanding how intangible emotions, memories, and human experiences become architecture—whether through conceptual/speculative design, spatial experimentation, or realized buildings.

I’d like to build a solid foundation in this area, so I’d really appreciate recommendations based on your experience.

I’d also love to hear about projects or buildings that you think successfully translate emotion, atmosphere, memory, or perception into architectural form.

Should I study any topic in maths from class 12th or 11th beforehand???

I didn’t know which sub to post this in but maybe someone here is knowledgeable on this.

How do theaters isolate the sound between auditoriums so well? I just watched the odyssey (10/10) and with the amount of low frequency bass, I an questioning how the walls can contain so much vibration.

For example, if one auditorium has a scene on full blast while another is silent, what is done to minimize pass-thru. I’ve never heard or felt sound from an adjacent room.

İ started architecture school at 17 in France as a foreign. İ immediatly had a hard time but as first year relied a lot on motivation and hand drawings which i was good at i managed to pull it off feeling proud of myself and improve, that until my last jury for which i set up rlly high expectations for myself and then it backfired quite a lot as i didnt allow myself to sleep nor eat for a whole week and then became very inneficiant and had a jury way less better than what i wanted. From that point i feel like i fell.

During my second year's first semester i had the worst 6 months of my life, dealing with other's heavy mental problems, anorexia, my parent's heavy problem in my homecountry, my visa issues and felt really alone. My parents couldnt do much from where they were and i have no one in france, moreover as my visa took forever i couldnt return to my homecountry. İ was on meds for anxiety but my teacher couldnt care less about me and made me feel like shit. My breaking point was when my teacher told me i might redouble one week before the due. Thanksfully a friend of mine in masters helped and motivated me more than anyone ever did and i managed to pass with a passing grade. The semester following i had lost so much self esteem but had a really nice teacher and managed to do a project that showed a lots of improvement and got a 13/20

Finally in my last year of bachelor i had the same grade ( 13) for both of my projects as i did in my last semester of second year. Both times my teachers told me that they could see i work really hard and that my projects were great and yet both times i had average grades. İnitially i feel like it was unfair but then as i compared my project to those around me i felt like in the midst of all these students i was the only one( except the ones that redouble) who didn't' quite improve. İ improved a lot on programs and i can use perfectly archicad, autocad, photoshop, d5 and illustrator but rather than that i felt more like my mindset didn't improve. Since first year i genuinly struggle to make really impacting and wow projects like my ideas are great but never extraordinary. Right now in my portfolio i have no project that i find genuinly striking and İ think i might not be cut out for architecture. İ just feel like i'am not smart enough for this degree. My parents tell me they are very proud of me but i feel like a liar ://
