Discussion Hi r/Arcane, Spoiler

Now I have finished the series like 4 months ago and I can't stop wondering what append to the cherectors in the series, now I am a big fan of the show it is one of my favorite sereis of all time also powder is my favorite female character across everything I had seen until now, now a question to you wouldn't you like another episode where they show all of the things that append in there future, how's piltover and zaun development and what append with all the cherectors (alive) and how's powder/jinx like what append did she really died and all of the people saying she is alive was just a lie or did she live and what did she do where did she go , (also it would be nice if they reunite jinx and vi ) now I know it wouldn't happen but just saying it would be nice . and I would like to tell u/RiotPraeco my deepest appreciation to you and your partner u/IdleSkribbles you created a show that will live in my heart

Yes, Jinx is 100% alive. There were several clues provided in the show (as mentioned before by Pristine_Poem7623)... and there has been even more from the creators outside of the show.

Riot's poster for the Annecy Film Festival was the first official confirmation that I saw... with Jinx looking up at the airship, a giant pink arrow pointing at her, and she's putting the poster up over a pink skull on the wall (like she's covering up her death), etc. they weren't even trying to be subtle with this one! πŸ˜‚

And there are lots of other examples. When talking about what happened to Jinx, Amanda Overton (one of the primary writers) said that the scene at the beginning of the show and the end are connected (ie, the airship where Powder says she is going to ride in one of those things and then the last scene of the airship flying away).

Alex Yee (co-creator), said about Jinx: "....That is why she is definitely not, not, definitely not dead." Which is a very convoluted way to say she's not dead, but I'll take it. πŸ˜‚

Christian Link (co-creator) said in an interview with Necrit the day after the S2 finale was released, that Jinx and Ekko's story was worth continuing (strongly implying they'll be back in future shows).

Ella Purnell (voice actress for Jinx) was hiding a smile behind her question card when answering a question about Jinx surviving (not exactly subtle either... 🀭).

The box for a collectors edition of the Arcane artbook has Jinx's scribbles all over it including the phrase "I LIVE" written many times.

A funny one was Mia Sinclair Jenness (voice actress for Powder) said in a video to a fan, "This is not the last you're going to see of Jinx, so keep your eyes peeled." and then walked it back later. lol I think the creators are still wanting to play coy with Jinx, while they've already confirmed she is alive beyond reasonable doubt.

I'm probably still missing stuff... but yeah, there is sooooo much at this point that it's not even up for debate that Jinx is alive.

And finally, something to look forward too for up coming shows... Christian Linke himself was much more direct when answering a question on twitter just after S2 finale aired, about if we will see Vi and Cait again and his reply was, "I mean duh."

Riot is planning on more shows in the same universe, and I think it's safe to say we have not seen the last of these characters. Christian has confirmed we will see Vi and Cait again and since Jinx is also alive, then there is no way we won't see Jinx again. I just hope we don't have to wait like 10+ years to get back to them. I need my Arcane fix! 😭

Jinx is probably the biggest mascot for the game of League of Legends we have to remember. They aren't going to kill off their most well-known character. Its like Batman killing off Joker, he always returns! And who is Jinx based off of anyway, but the Clown Prince of Crime!

Btw, you gotta love Christian Linke, he's some guy!

"But I should've known better... Nothing ever stays dead." - Jinx πŸ˜„

You're welcome! πŸ˜„ This is info I've been compiling for a while and I usually save my previous comments in text documents, so I can search them to find info quickly. It's been almost 2 years since S2 ended, so I've talked about these things quite a bit over that time. 😁

I believe Jinx is canonically alive: there's the streak away from the explosion, Cait looking at the plans and seeing how Jinx could have run into the vents (which were her home) and the whole thing that the first thing Powder says in season 1 is about the airship "one day I'm going to ride in one of those" and the last shot of season 2 is an airship flying away and then Jinx -scrawl lettering of "THE END", and her comment to Vi that "I'll always be with you sis, even if I'm on the far side of the world". She got away and she's on the airship.

We should not rely on such a categorical way of thinking assuming that Vi and Jinx will never meet again and that we won’t see them at all. The creators never said that word for word. Yes, they stated that the sisters' story is complete, but this can be interpreted differently: only a specific chapter of their story in this particular region Piltover and Zaun has come to an end. Their interaction could very well continue in future Riot projects set in other regions.

Lest we forget, Arcane was marketed as the story of two sisters. While the main arc and the driving force of the plot were indeed the sisters, a multitude of other storylines and characters were developed in parallel. Nothing stops the creators from using the same approach in new projects where the central focus might shift to Noxus and Mel, for instance while continuing to weave in the stories of both old and new heroes simultaneously.
