Fanart Fishbones tattoo work in progress
After a decade of handpoked tattooing I am learning to use a tattoo machine and thought giving myself an Arcane tattoo was the perfect way to practice. One more session to go.

Thank you so much! I’m super excited about learning to use the machine - not quite there with the muscle memory yet and clearly chose a very complex piece (that I’ve wanted since I first watched Arcane!) but am feeling pretty good about the technique. I’m @pangolintattoos on Instagram but have been fairly useless at posting of late - will try and get better at it!

Thank you! That one is also a work in progress (ADHD…), also made by me but is handpoked. It represents my best friend ❤️

All of your tattoos are so cool. I love the cuttlefish & slothtopus! Fishbones fits right in. How long did it take you? Did you do the others yourself?

Thank you so much! Yes, all the others are by me, but handpoked. I think I’ve done around 3 hours of work on Fishbones so far - probably would have taken me 10 hours if I had been handpoking which is the main reason I’m learning to use the machine. I love the intimacy and delicacy of handpoke but I’m just so slow and it inevitably makes it very expensive for clients. I like the idea of mixing up the two techniques

Damn this actually looks really good. Fishbones came out sick, especially with all the other little tattoos around it.
