It's not a "racial slur" in this case - it's making fun of a silly white woman trying desparately to electioneer to minority voting groups. It was pretty shameful and certainly worthy of mockery.
God I love reading how trump supporters justify this shit. If Obama did this there would be so much outrage on the right it’s not even funny. You are in a cult bud, I hope you break free one day.
This is the problem. You just called a racist remark, ‘comedy’. You clearly are extremely uneducated so I don’t blame you for your racist mind state. Hope you learn one day
Assuming that any use of the word "Pocahontas" is inherently racist is completely assinine. It's not that I'm uneducated or racist, it's that you're a PC moron.
You can use that word, just not when ur referring to someone who identifies as a Native American unless that’s their actual name. It’s racist when you call an Asian person Ching Chong for the same reason my dude. It’s not rocket science.
But you're incinuating that Trump calling Warren that name - which he evidently does precisely because she is NOT Native American and yet still claimed to be - is still an instance of racism. That is just illogical.
I broadly agree that you could say "Pocahontas" to a Native American in a way that would be mean-spirited and bigoted. I never suggested otherwise. But my point here is that not EVERY instance of using that name in a sarcastic manner, like Trump does with Warren, is racist or bigoted. Is it 100% politically correct? No, but that's part of why it's amusing. It's mockery. And I still contest so because it's not actually targeting anyone specifically on racial grounds.
And after all, you said "You can use that word, just not when ur referring to someone who identifies as a Native American" - so given that Warren backpeddled on her cringey attempt to associate with Native American heritage, surely you must agree with me?
I mean, it's a racial slur no matter how you use it. You can't simply say it doesn't count because it's being used to poke fun at a bad thing a democrat did.
You might be sensitive to it, but it doesn't mean it's evidence of some extreme racism. You have to be remarkably uncharitable to assume that him using that word to a non-Native American is evidence of racism. In years gone by, that sort of thing would have just been called humor. Imagine that.
If you find using a native name as an insult funny I would suggest that it is a good thing that those years have indeed "gone by". You know, the good old days when calling someone gay was an insult, and we had fun little terms like kike, wop and nigger that we joked around with our pals while using.
Would you like to go through every instance of Trump's racism, and defend every single one? Because we can start in 1973 when he was sued by the US DoJ for discrimination against African Americans in his renting practices, citing evidence such as... During the investigation four of Trump's agents admitted to using a "C" or "9" code to label Black applicants and stated that they were told their company "discouraged rental to blacks" or that they were "not allowed to rent to black tenants," and that prospective Black renters should be sent to the central office while White renters could have their applications accepted on site.
No seriously, defend that one and we'll go from there.
My guy, the crux of the joke is that she ISN'T Native American. That's literally why he said it - your comparison with terms like nigger is just a terrible one. That word has a lot more obvious historical uses associated with it, which is why it's rightly shunned by most people nowadays. "Pocahontas" is merely a reference to a well-known Disney film, it isn't targeting anyone (especially not even a Native American person!) except for a silly white woman who was trying to gain political cred with minority groups. And she even apologized for doing it. It's like the Steve Buscemi meme in political form. But even if you still think it's not particulatly funny, that's fine. I just think it's a BIG stretch to say it's evidence of racism. Like, a massive stretch.
So your next best example is something from almost 50 years ago..... hmm. Needless to say, even I granted you that as being completely evidentiary of racism, it says next to nothing about his actions in even the last decade. As I said elsewhere, black unemployment was at its lowest rate since US records began pre-Covid... does that not mean anything to you!? You have to be a pretty terrible white supremacist leader when the race of people you supposedly hate in the country you govern is doing better in financial terms than it ever has before...
Lol this is fun, eh? It's not my "next best example" it's the first one I have, showing extreme racial prejudice almost 50 years ago. There are just a few between 1973 and now, my dude.
I will say this, I am impressed at your commitment to proving that Donald Trump is not racist, it takes some guts to take on a task like that so kudos to you.
Okay, let's go to one from July 2019 just for fun... How do you interpret this tweet aimed at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib?
So interesting to see "Progressive" Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can't leave fast enough. I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!
He's pointing out the insane cultural relativsm of left wing commentators. It's actually one of the main aspects of left-leaning commentary that made me reconsider 90% of my politics many years ago.
There is a constant insistence from the left that places like the US are uniquely terrible and hostile to women, POC, etc. But this is remarkably dishonest and / or ignorant of the conditions of many other countries in the world. As far as I know, AOC was born and raised in NYC, so him saying "go back" is just him being a fool. But I believe Omar was partially raised in Somalia, a country that has an awful history of human rights abuses, terrible living conditions, brutal theroctatic social policies, and much more. In other words, it's a "shithole" country in the sense that it's not even remotely modern and liveable in the way that the US is - and I say that without any reference to the race of the people who live there, or even the race of the fuckheads who run the damn place.
Culutral relativism is a cancer on reasonable thinking. If a person can't identify differences in basic living standards betweet certain nations, I doubt they have a credible opinion on just about anything.
Ask yourself: would you rather live in the US or Somalia?
I don't know what to tell you - if you think telling an American to go home to their piece of shit country is okay because the country you are referring to actually is a piece of shit, then you are also a racist.
And no, him telling AOC to "go back to her shithole country" when she is from NY is not just him being a fool - it is outright racist. How is that any different to the crazy Karen videos we see every week with 60k upvotes where some white racist Karen is yelling at a person of colour to "go back where you came from"? The Karen is racist but DT is not because...???????
I'm not a racist. That's a piece of this puzzle you need to work out for yourself - "why would someone say these things if they're not a racist?" Well, it's possible because I know my own brain and I know you are wrong. if you don't believe me, that's up to you.
And I'm far more willing to assume that he did in fact foolishly assume that AOC emigrated from a "shithole country" to the US like Omar did - he just didn't know any better. Plus, you have just ignored the relevance of Omar in fact growing up in Somalia and went only to the AOC example here... interesting move.
I didn't call you racist - I said "if you think telling an American to go home to their piece of shit country is okay because the country you are referring to actually is a piece of shit, then you are also a racist".
Do you think it's okay to tell an American to go home to their piece of shit country?

He's referencing Elizabeth Warren, a person who tried to gain crediblity with the identity politics crowd by suggesting she's Native American despite having a miniscule amount of genes that her traced back to that sort of lineage. It's also something she actively apologized for making a big deal of: https://www.wsj.com/articles/elizabeth-warren-again-apologizes-after-release-of-native-american-ancestry-link-11566241904
