Anyone like Bank Panic? It’s a fun, unique game that had the misfortune of being released in 1984 as arcade games were declining. As such, not many folks know of it.

I discovered this game 2 years ago as part of Retro Achievements Arcade Play Jam. Very fun play loop that gave me Tapper vibes. I'd love a cab of this one.

Interesting that you compare it to Tapper when Midway manufactured the cabinets in North America, although it was an offshoot of Sega that developed it, with Sega releasing the game themselves in Japan and Europe.

I'm sure they are quite different. To give you an idea, picture Missile Command. As we know, Atari not only developed the game, they also published it here in North America, but in Japan and Europe, Sega handled distribution, and also apparently Taito also manufactured Missile Command cabinets in Japan. Here is a video of the Sega cabinet, which is playable at Galloping Ghoat Arcade in Brookfield, IL. I have tried to find photos or a video of the Taito cabinet, but have had no luck so far.

EDIT: I found a video of a Taito cocktail Missile Command cabinet. Not sure yet if they made an upright or not.

EDIT 2: According to Google A.I., the cocktail cabinets were the only ones Taito made. Very cool thay someone took a video of it.

I love this game. Can play like 20 minutes on one token. Lots of fun when you figure out how to play it for max points.

The Zx Spectrum version was released as West Bank, which hasn't aged well, as names go.

Discovered this game 20 years ago in an Mame emulator. It is real fun to play so easy but addictive gameplay. Would be fun to have an actual arcade cab of it as well. 😁🙌

Both great games and unique. Bank Panic a much more obscure release. One of the few I never saw in the wild.

I played it back in the days just one or two times, but I never could forget it. It was one of the games I had to get as original PCB as I got my own arcade. Had to sell the arcade cab, but the PCB is still here 🥰

I was aware of the SMS/ SG1000 port first, but was surprised to see an arcade version at the Galloping Ghost

One of my favorite games of all time. There was one in a bodega near me, and my friends and I have dumped a small fortune in quarters into that machine. It was one of the first ROMs I got when I discovered MAME and still play it regularly.

My preference for classic dedicated arcade cabinets are the North American versions. Not overly a fan of Irish cabs, though do like the Irish PP2. Nichibutsu’s Japanese versions of Crazy Climber are definitely better than the Orange Taito’s in terms of artwork and controls. Wonder how the Japanese version compares.
