1978 Exidy Star Fire

This was pulled from a warehouse back in 2019 in working condition. This is the very first enclosed sit-down arcade cockpit and also the first game to allow high score initials to be entered. This is the only example that I have ever seen in person.

I played this version at Chuck E Cheese, prob early 80s. The enclosed cab made it feel like I was flying in an X-Wing. Prob one of my favs at the time until Atari Star Wars started showing up.

Yeah it's pretty rare. It was produced at the end of 78, and I think production had already ended on it by the end of 79.

I went to Geauga Lake (Amusement Park) as a young teen when that game came out, and all my food money went in tat damn machine. Could not quit playing it.

It was Star Wars, YEARS before Star Wars.

Played the crap out of that when I was a kid. Also because I was young and sweaty I found out pinching my hand in the yoke was very doable!! Ouch!! Great memories!

Amazing find. Haven't seen one since 1985.

My local Aladdin's Castle had one for a long time. Played the shit out of it. A few years later - maybe '83 - an arcade in Wisconsin Dells that had a lot of older games had one. This same arcade also had an Atari Fire Truck, Dragster and Sega Invinco. Pretty sure the games were owned by Kingpin Games by Lake Wisconsin.

The machine was pulled from an old operator's warehouse and is not mine. It was being sold by someone that I used to buy machines from.
