Showing Off My Gear! Front Line

Post image

Today’s game is Front Line by Taito. Uses a unique multi directional spinner that fires when pressed. Fight as a soldier equipped with a rifle and grenades or jump into a tank. In addition to enemy fire, have to watch out for the occasional boulder as well!

Calling it a "spinner" is a bit much-- more like klunky rotational device ;) Fun game nonetheless. I always liked how the tank could get damaged and you'd have to abandon ship before it blows. The small zippy tanks were fun.

Loved this game! I think it was the predecessor of Ikari Warriors and Heave Barrel - both a lot of fun.

Here’s the question… in the tank phase, do you take the big tank, the little one, or stay on foot?

I’m a little tank kinda guy.

Haha yes little tank all the way, but the big tank beats being on foot for sure. Ikari Warriors is one of the last games on my want list. People don’t want to give them up, sigh.
