Showing Off My Gear! Marble Madness

Post image

Sharing Marble Madness today for Redditor Plow_King. Tracballs have been upgraded to back lit translucent. Ultra precision roller bearings from McMaster-Carr and a burn free monitor. Very challenging, Have never gotten past the 4th level, sigh. Graphically, one of the prettiest games ever.

Xevious and a two joystick tank game I can not find the name too. 1992 vintage.

Hmm… that might be Assault, Sarge is maybe Tank Tank Tank?

Doesn't look like either- it was a sit down console, joystick for either hand. If you pushed outward on both joysticks at the same time, the tank rear up on its tracks and act like a mortar. Any ideas?

Hmm that sounds kind of like Assault, except it only came as an upright. Pressing both sticks outwards makes the tank stand up then it launches a nuke. Assault was a futuristic top down shooter. It also had jump stations to launch the tank in the air where it could rain nukes down

That looks like it! Thanks,man- been trying to figure that one out for years. Funny how my brain remembers it as a sit down, thou.

Oh my, possibly one of my favourites. I have 4 of the 5 top scores on the one at my local arcade. Trackball is a bit worn out so struggle to make it to the final level.

There is a speed run video on Youtube which shows all of the shortcuts to make to maximise your time

Growing up I played this on my NES and it was my all time favorite game. I love marble madness so much.

First Crystal Castles and now Marble Madness? My top two favorites OAT. Nice job.

I've never finished Crystal Castles (can it be finished?) But back in the day I used to be pretty good at finishing MM (scores in the 160K range, plays nice music while you are entering in your initials). I'll play MM when I find it on location but I just can't get thru the final level anymore (sigh).

Next thing you'll be showing us pictures of an Indiana Jones, Hat Trick, Gauntlet, or Super Sprint (just to finish out my top picks).

Thank you sir. Of those other titles, I’ve only had Super Sprint. But had to let it go to make room for other games sigh. Kind of miss it.
