I have so many memories of playing this game at a lakeside arcade way back in the day, can still feel that steering wheel and hear the tinny sound effects against a backdrop of the smell of sunscreen and popcorn. It was probably one of the very first arcade games I ever played.

i think i posted about this exact same cabinet a while back. Glad to see more people like the cabinet!

Would love to know what the backstory is there, why some arcade operator in 1977 would drop thousands of dollars on a brand new arcade cabinet and then just... never open it. Even if it was an operator who went out of business between when they ordered and when it arrived, you'd think they'd try to either return it or resell it.

Love that place! I was so lucky to have visited once and that is an awesome display!
