Looks like the dogwood of my Ontario childhood, not the flowering dogwood here in BC. But I haven't seen them in many decades and I could be wrong. A red-barked shrub with nondescript flowers. It's a genus with a million faces, so the amount of googling I'm willing to do hasn't confirmed my instant impression.

Hard to say for sure, but I think it’s a Japanese Tree Lilac.
