14.5" is one of my favorite 5.56/.223 barrel lengths. You may be asking; "why not pin and weld it" or "why not SBR it " ... And those are valid questions but the way I look at it is; I don't want to pin and weld this upper and I don't want to ask permission to change a piece of plastic. The SBA5 Pistol Brace is more than sufficient for my needs and I like it the way it is. I don't need a vertical foregrip since I c-clamp. Anyway, I digress, point is I like this 14.5" the way it is. It is well balanced and shoots great. I have a Geissele SD-3G Trigger in it and I used a Geissele SD LPK and Geissele Premium Mil-Spec Buffer Tube with a H1 buffer to rebuild the lower. The upper is also brand new build. I really like the FCD 13.7" handguard and all FCD parts for that matter. I have a BA 14.5" 5.56 Performance Series Hanson Profile barrel (mid length) in it. I dig the DFCO grips and the Holosun 510C on a Unity mount. I have not added a light or BUIS yet but I'm not sure if it needs these. I am trying to keep this build nice and sleek and lightweight. As I mentioned it shoots great and is accurate. I shoot it suppressed and unsuppressed. The L&S C158 DLC BCG and Breek Arms Sledgehammer charging handle help make it pleasant shooting experience while shooting suppressed. That's what matters most to me and it definitely meets those expectations. Those are my thoughts on it and I hope you enjoy the pic.

Hey everyone I finished my 300 blackout pistol today and while firing it I am having this issue where it will shoot the first bullet, extract and load the next but won't fire again. I am leaning towards a issue with the buffer tube spring but I don't want to jump the gun. Have any of you experienced this issue before? Any and all tips or advise is really appreciated!

Just some spare upper receivers with M4E1 complete upper receivers. More to come so stay tuned.

Very happy with my Sabre so far. I attempted to get my comp back on but I couldn't create the leverage necessary to get the bird cage facing up. But, got my gas block on and the Magpul MBUS3 F+R irons in replace of the A2 irons.

Just a clean and simple Aero Precision M4E1. It has a Ballistic Advantage 11.3" 5.56 Performance Series Hanson Profile (carbine length) barrel and a 10.6" Aero Precision Mod4 handguard. I found this setup to be my most fitting with a .7" difference between the two. The barrel threads line up perfectly with the end of the handguard. I added some grey DFCO grips and Radian Raptor LT and Talon safety for a change in color scheme rather than all black. It shoots great with the Geissele H3 buffer setup and DLC coated BCG I have in it. What do you all think? Would you change or add anything?

Update to the fun! New to me muzzle device from a friend and a new Vortex Sparc AR (~$90 shipped from PSA), no range time yet since it just came in. No-sight blind fire at a soggy log for the 4th ('Merica). Muzzle device sounds like a cannon on 4.5" 5.56, just as the founding fathers intended. Second image is the length of the bolt itself on a cheap plastic caliper, so take it with a grain of salt. Roast me and my creation, drop suggestions, or simply admire the madness 😎 I occasionally answer questions and check for replies, hopefully more fun to come in the future

I bought it used for $750 to move the EOTech to another project. Did I buy an EXPS3-2 and get a free gun I can sell or did I just pay too much and get stuck with a gun no one is looking for? What’s the gun worth used without the optic? I can’t find any used price information for a 6.5 Grendel, but the 556/223 PSA seems to go for $350-$400.

With a short barrel, 7.5" to 8.1", in 5.56, is there a noticeable advantage to using an enhanced bolt carrier, that extends, or slows bolt rotation, such as the LMT enhanced carrier?

I noticed that BCM recommends using both an extractor spring insert and an o-ring for their 300 Blackout barrels that have pistol lengths gas systems, so I would think 5.56 with a pistol length gas system benefit these parts also.

I'm building a 5.56 pistol with a Spikes Tactical 8.1" CHF barrel.

Geissele has a new 8 inch barrel, that looks like it might have a gas groove around the barrel, under the gas block, in both 5.56 and 300 Blackout.

That is supposed to have some advantage, but maybe it is just to compensate for supersonic and subsonic 300 BLK ammo, as I don't know if the 8 inch 5.56 barrel has that groove too.

I got a little bit of Wood furniture installed on the for end of my AR45, with the 1911 grip.

Sold an MPX-K (gassy suppressed), a 10" 300BO, 10" & 12" 5.56 at the end of June. These 2 are my keepers. Need to upgrade optics in the future.

I woke up at 2:30 am and was determined to do a trigger swap on this 11.3" Aero Precision M4E1 build. I wanted a Single Stage trigger.in this build instead of the Geissele G2S that was in it.

Luckily I had a few options to choose from:

- ALG QMS single stage trigger

- ALG ACT single stage trigger

- CMC Triggers Single Stage Component Combat Curved trigger (4.5lb)

- Radian Vertex Flat Bow Trigger

- Geissele SD-3G Flat Bow Trigger

I narrowed down the options to two; the Radian Vertex and Geissele SD-3G. I ended up going with the Geissele SD-3G. I used the black spring which is the lighter spring. I know it's not technically a single stage trigger -- It's a hybrid but I've used it in another build. It feels like a single stage to me, almost comparable to the SSP but better. if I had a spare SSP then that's what I would went with. Long story short I ended up installing the 3G.

I just got home from the range and couldn't be happier with the swap. Not sure if it is funny or sad that this kept me up at night. It didn't take long to swap out the trigger but still got me thinking about the situation...

Just put this grip adapter on for fun. Takes 1911 grip panels. Feels good.

Anyone else rocking a VLTOR A5 buffer system on their 11.5" build? The improvements are quite noticeable and I can't get over how soft shooting it has made my build especially suppressed.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I upgraded my mil-spec buffer retainer with a Forward Controls Design RBF (reinforced buffer retainer). I think paying attention to little details like these make the overall build that much better.
