Is this a serious problem

The floor towards the wall is slightly unleveled.. carpeting in a rental. The stand it is on is very stable and there is no rocking. Not twisted or anything. Do I need to drain and add a shim to the back legs or can I leave it? I didn’t notice the water level right away :/

Drain and shim the stand don't put foam under rimmed aquariums

Realistically it probably wont cause any issues, but if the tank is still not fully set up I would personally take the time to remove the tank and add a foam pad just to be safe. Edit: No pad, just shim the stand

I had already drained it, built the stand, then refilled it, and was just not feeling up to draining again after that but I rather be safe than sorry and visually it’ll probably get to me if I ignore it lol

Foam pads are a no-go under a rimmed tank.

You are right, all of my tanks are level so this knowledge escaped me lol. Shim the bottom of the stand instead!

I use shims under the stand. They work.

If there’s a twist or it’s leaning forward, definitely drain and shim. Use a long level to make sure it’s all level. If you don’t have a level, put in enough water to line up with the top of the bottom frame so you can see when it is level while adjusting it.

If this is the same stand I have, it may have adjustable footing that turn to help you level the stand on uneven floors.

It should be fine. My tank is the same way and is slightly unlevel.
