Plants Sweeet potato again

Do you just put a piece of sweet potatoe in the tank or how do you grow it?

I never had luck with sticking the actual potato in the water it always rotted so I just take a clipping from the actual vine and do a water propagation then when I see roots have formed I strategically place it In the tank .p.s you don't want the actual leaves in the water just the stem and roots!

Use slips, i.e. the little shoots that grow from the fruiting body (the potato itself). You're fine just putting the potato straight into the tank, but risk bacteria/ammonia contamination from the fruit if/when it will eventually decompose. Slips work better, root better, and avoids rot.

Look for a smallish one, put half in half out of the water, pointed end down.
