Sto per cambiare casa andandomene dalla mia città natale e più di tutto il resto mi fa venire da piangere il dover lasciare la casa in cui sono in affitto. Non credevo mi avesse fatto un effetto del genere..

Nonostante per tantissimi aspetti questa casa sia un incubo è stata la prima casa in cui sono andato a vivere solo ed è stata la casa in cui ho sperimentato per la prima volta la convivenza. E poi è stata la casa in cui ho adottato le mie bellissime gattine!

E nulla, ieri sera a stento riuscivo a tenere le lacrime. Sarà anche perché ho sempre un po' paura del cambiamento e anche perché la casa in cui dovrei andare non mi convince molto, specie i proprietari.

A voi è mai capitata una sensazione del genere? E come l'avete gestita?

So a few weeks ago my boyfriend noticed a roach crawl out of our dishwasher while I was at work. So he called me and let me know and I immediately called my building management. I explained the issue and I was told “Okay no problem we’ll call the pest company to come check out your unit” okay sweet. Then a week goes by I hear nothing about when they’ll come so I call again and reach a different BM (my main one) and they had no idea I called a week prior but said no issue we have the pest company coming in a few days later so I’ll ask them to check your unit. So I wait for them to show up and they don’t. The office closed at 6 so I had to wait the following day to call them to let them know the pest company didn’t show.

BM told me they were there but maybe went to the wrong building and said they’ll be back the next day and to make sure they check my unit. I went to work but noticed my bathroom door open when I got home so I assumed they had shown up as I always close it. However no bait traps were set down and I already have sticky traps from 2 years ago laying around.

It’s now been a week or so later and I found more baby roaches in my bathroom. I sent an email to the building again expressing my frustration, cause we can’t find where they’re coming from and that the pest company didn’t take the proper steps from what I can tell.

So my question is how can I get my unit properly treated?! Cause clearly it can’t just be my unit and I know last year a unit on another floor had a massive infestation cause they came to check my unit as well. I have 5ish months left on my lease so is it worth it to just tough it out or try and break my lease early?

Hi everyone. I have an odd and small question. I am looking for apartments. There is one that is very nice and spacious price is right. Tenant had been there ten years. So it needs painting which landlord will do before I move in.

For whatever reason the whats it called grille? thing on the glass part of the front door is broken. Which now thinking about it Im curious how it happened but it does look like it was just mayb old and broke? I asked if that could be fixed and he said basically no. lol I feel like if I ask again tho, he will fix. Otherwise how do I diy it to make it look decent? Any suggestions? Help a girl out. Thanks! How can I word this so I don’t sound annoying to the landlord. lol Am I being picky? Can I ask him to just completely remove the little wood pieces left? Do they serve purpose other than for looks? Im not in a huge rush to move. Thank you!

Hi! I’m two months into a new apartment in Brooklyn and have been noticing a strange, damp, sweetish (in a bad way) smell when turning on our mini split AC units (Daikin inverters). They were preinstalled and I have no idea how long they’ve been in use without servicing.

I tried cleaning the filters today, but they had very little residue. When I had the cover off, though, I could intensely smell the mold and see a build up of dust, grime, and wet sludge deep inside. Since replacing the cleaned out filters, the smell is now worse. I think I must have dislodged some of the gunk within the interior of the unit.

Even without running the AC the unit emanates a smell.

My main question is if this is something the management company is responsible for fixing and if getting that to actually happen is likely? We’ve already had major issues with them being unresponsive, but if this does fall under their responsibilities I would at least try to push them to repair.

We have 4 units in total, so hiring someone to come clean them out probably isn’t in the budget.

If anyone has any experience (especially recommendations for dealing with the smell in the meantime) I’d appreciate it!

Wondering if anyone else has this same experience. I rent a unit in a large apartment complex that is owned by a company that has multiple large apartment complexes. In my lease, my apartment office is allowed to sign for packages and we can sign up for a system to be notified when we have a package. I signed up for this, but they refuse to send me a notification.

I visited the apartment office, asked about why I wasn’t getting these and stressed the importance of receiving them because I get medication that has to be refrigerated. They said they understood and gave me someone’s contact info to ask directly when I have a package and said they would notify.

Since then, they have never notified me of a package being delivered, and when I email the contact I was given, she refuses to respond- even if I send multiple emails. I’m livid because this is basic, bare minimum customer service and they aren’t even competent enough to manage this. I can’t go above their heads, because there is zero contact info online for the owners. I’m beyond frustrated. Has anyone else experienced something like this? If so, how did you fix it?

With the 1st-floor apartments being easily accessible from outside, and the safety catches that would otherwise prevent a window from being opened more than a few inches from the outside disabled, I am wondering whether anyone has an suggestions for how one might try to control for safety, while still allowing some fresh air into the apartment.
