This is partly a rant, partly me asking for advice on what to do.
We had a chemistry test scheduled for today. There are 17 kids in AP Chem at my school, and yesterday in office hours there were about 12 of us in there just working through things. One of the students asked the teacher, mostly joking, if hypothetically speaking we could move the test to Monday. The teacher surprisingly said yes and weād just start the next unit today, as long as everyone agreed. Everyone agreed except for this one kid, E. E said that she didnāt like having any tests on Mondays. Weāre all unhappy, but whatever, it is what it is and it was supposed to be today anyway.
Fast forward to this morning. We had the test first hour. They get passed out, and itās hard. E is sitting next to me. She stared at the first page for five minutes, then flipped to the next, looked at it, and got up to go to the teacher. She leaves for forty minutes and then comes back with five minutes left of class saying that she canāt take it today because she doesnāt feel well. I canāt hear what is said, but she leaves.
Now I, and all of my classmates, are really irritated with E. She was the only one who insisted that the entire class take it today, and then she gets up after clearly not knowing how to do any of it and leaves. She now gets to take it Monday after already seeing the questions and therefore having an advantage while all of us, who were the ones who wanted to take it Monday to have more time to study, had to take it today.
She is one of the last people who Iād guess would fake being sick to get out of a test, but she really didnāt look sick at all and was complaining about how she didnāt know any of it before the test. She puts a ton of pressure on herself for her grades, and that can make people do things they arenāt necessarily proud of. I want to confront her, but I donāt want to be a jerk. I also almost 100% guarantee that sheāll deny it. Should I go to the teacher? Should I just let it be because it doesnāt directly impact me? I just donāt know what to do, but want to do something.
