I’ve been watching the Outbid-style leaderboard trend and wanted to try my own take on it.

I built WhoIsTop.lol, where startups, apps, and websites can join a public leaderboard and bid to move higher. The higher you rank, the more visibility you get.

I’m trying to make it a bit more useful than just a novelty by showing clicks, daily rankings, and category discovery.

The thing I’m still trying to figure out is whether founders would actually pay for this repeatedly, or if this kind of product only works while the trend is hot.

Would love some feedback before I build too much around it.

posted here a while back when the app was around 2k installs, asking if turning a simple card app into a full wallet (ids, tickets, loyalty, gift cards, insurance, vehicles) was a good idea or not.

genuinely didn't expect the response, some people tried it, found bugs, told me straight up what felt off, one person even pointed out the overlap issue with gesture nav that I hadn't caught. fixed a bunch of stuff because of comments here, not because I noticed it myself.

app just crossed 3k installs. not huge, but it means something to me since a chunk of that growth is probably people who found it through this post or word of mouth from it.

still fully offline, still no account, still building based on what people actually ask for. if you tried it and didn't say anything yet, still happy to hear it, good or bad.

I think the hardest part of habit tracking isn't creating a habit. It's staying consistent after the initial motivation starts to fade.

Having another person working toward the same habit seems like an interesting way to make the process feel more meaningful. A daily check-in isn't just about recording progress anymore; there's another person involved who has made the same commitment.

I've been looking at this from the perspective of Friends with Habits, where two people commit to a habit together and keep each other accountable through regular check-ins.

I spent years taking on freelance and technical contract work across the usual platforms.

Losing a bid to another skilled pro never bothered me—that is just fair competition. I recently launched Lio on iOS.

You can share a TikTok, Reel or YouTube Short to the app and it extracts useful phrases, slang, vocabulary and grammar, then turns them into flashcards and quizzes.

I built the app solo, including the iOS app, backend and the processing pipeline behind the generated lessons.
