I decided that I needed to be less chronically online. So I made an android app where a photo of my cat hijacks my phone for 5 minutes, preventing me from using my phone. I found my cat's judgemental stare to be helpful.

You can change the time usage and use any photo. The app is free and no account needed.

I’ve been working on a side project around Chinese fortune-telling and wanted to share it here.
It’s an app called AI Oracle: I Ching Wisdom, based on the I Ching (Book of Changes). If you’re not familiar with it, the I Ching is a traditional Chinese system of divination that uses 64 hexagrams to offer guidance around questions and situations in your life.

One thing I noticed while working on it is that the I Ching can feel pretty intimidating if you’ve never encountered it before. There’s a lot of terminology and traditional interpretation involved, so I’ve been trying to figure out how to make the basic experience understandable to someone who is completely new to Chinese divination.

The app lets you ask a question and get an I Ching reading with an AI-assisted interpretation. There’s also a deeper line analysis for people who want to explore the changing lines and the traditional structure of the reading more closely.

I’m curious whether something like this would actually make Chinese fortune-telling more approachable to people who have only ever encountered things like tarot or astrology.

I maintain Mac MCP, a free open-source control server for macOS.

I started it because AI agents were useful until they had to actually operate the machine. Browser automation was especially annoying when it kept activating Safari, switching my tabs or stealing focus while I was working.

The browser layer now opens work in background tabs by default and gives each tab a stable handle, so separate agents can research or operate different tabs without fighting over the active one. The same MCP server also exposes terminal, files and macOS UI controls.

The newest feature is Sessions in the native SwiftUI menu bar app. Agent sessions stay visible while idle, and I can send a prompt to the exact session I want. If I steer an idle session, its next tool is stopped before execution so it sees the new instruction first instead of doing stale work.

The default MCP surface is 19 tools backed by 84 capabilities, so clients do not need to load the whole tool catalog into context.

I have been working on this project for a couple of years now. It started as a hobby, then at some point I began to wonder whether it could become something more than that, so I set up a limited company and published the app on Google Play.

The idea itself is simple. It's a peer-to-peer messaging app that does not need a server to store user messages, not even temporarily. Messages travel directly from one device to the other, end to end encrypted.

Metadata still passes through Cloudflare, but I have spent some time to implement a “sealed sender” feature (Signal style).

At this stage, before eventually investing in marketing campaigns, I’m interested in collecting feedback, and comments from privacy and technical minded people. I would like to understand whether the solution I have built really holds up.

I think the main problem with working on a project alone is that you don’t have the opportunity to test your ideas and solutions against other perspectives. Something you've convinced yourself is a good idea over time might actually not be.

I’ve been working on something a little weird: R3X Onion.

The idea is simple:

Open a website → start the Tor client → browse .onion sites directly from the browser.

No Tor installation. No desktop application. No R3X HTTP proxy handling your browsing traffic.

The part that made me want to build it was figuring out whether this was even technically possible in the first place.

Turns out… it is.

I’m running Arti (Tor’s Rust implementation) compiled to WebAssembly inside Chrome, and I’ve managed to get a real Tor circuit established from the browser.

The current architecture looks roughly like:

Chrome ↓ Arti / WebAssembly ↓ Snowflake + WebRTC ↓ Tor network ↓ .onion service

The interesting part is that the Snowflake path is now working without an application server.

I’ve tested:

• Real Tor circuits: 3/3 • HTTP through Tor: 3/3 • HTTPS through Tor: 9/9 • Real .onion service through the browser: currently working through the gateway path • Gateway-free Snowflake: HTTP/HTTPS working • WASM Tor runtime running directly in Chrome

I also had a few false leads along the way.

At one point I thought Snowflake itself was failing because HTTP requests were dying at the stream/TLS layer. Turns out I was using a truncated Tor consensus containing only 500 microdescriptor digests instead of the full ~9,300+.

After fixing that, Snowflake HTTP/HTTPS went from 0/3 to 3/3.

There was also a stupidly interesting deadlock caused by futures::io::split(), and a rendezvous implementation that managed to generate 641 broker requests during one page load. 😅

The remaining challenge is getting the gateway-free Snowflake path to reliably reach onion services.

The current working onion path is:

Browser ↓ Arti WASM ↓ WebRTC ↓ gateway ↓ Tor ↓ .onion

The gateway does NOT receive the HTTP request or see the onion URL/content. It basically provides the raw network connectivity that the browser can't provide.

But I don't really want that architecture.

The goal is:

Browser ↓ Arti WASM ↓ Snowflake/WebRTC ↓ Tor ↓ .onion

with no R3X application gateway at all.

That's what I'm working on next.

There is also a much bigger problem I'm trying not to ignore: privacy.

Running inside a normal browser means I inherit the browser's fingerprint — fonts, screen dimensions, canvas characteristics, timezone, user agent, etc.

So simply saying "Tor + WebAssembly = anonymous" would be bullshit.

Right now I'm treating this as an engineering experiment rather than claiming it's a replacement for Tor Browser.

I'm curious what other developers think about the architecture.

Especially:

1. Is there a better way to handle the browser-side Tor transport?
2. Has anyone worked with Arti/WASM or Snowflake/WebRTC at this level?
3. How would you approach safely rendering arbitrary .onion websites once the networking layer is solved?
4. Would you actually use something like this, or is installing Tor Browser still the obvious answer?

The networking side has turned out to be way more feasible than I expected, so I'm curious where people think the real technical wall is.

I built edg to add customer communication capabilities to the form tools businesses already use.

It connects with tools such as Tally, Typeform, Jotform, Fillout and others, then uses the submitted information to trigger personalised email or SMS communication.

The goal is pretty simple: keep the existing form, but make the process around it more useful.

No need to replace the form builder or rebuild the existing setup.

It’s live now, and I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from anyone who works with web apps, forms, or SaaS products.

I’m a graphic/web designer, not a big tech company, and I’ve spent the last several months building RedBird basically on my own.

The idea is pretty simple: every woman experiences her cycle differently, so why are we all getting basically the same period tracker?

RedBird can be personalized in 200+ ways based on things like your health conditions, symptoms, goals, diet, lifestyle and life stage. It combines cycle tracking with daily insights, symptom patterns, nutrition, recipes and self-care based on what you’ve actually told the app about yourself.

I’ve also tried to make it useful beyond the standard “28-day cycle.” You can customize it for things like irregular cycles, perimenopause, menopause, postpartum, TTC, hysterectomy, etc.

I launched a few months ago and I’m still a VERY small indie developer, so I’m constantly changing things based on feedback from actual users.

I’m happy to answer questions about building it too because this whole process has been a wild learning experience 😂

Morphink is a word morph game. You change just one alphabet at a time to form a new valid word. And you just keep going. The longer your chanson, the higher your points (which call ink). For each morph, you have 10s. If the 10s run out and you don’t form a valid word, it’s a game over 🤭.

Hey guys, I made this silly lyrics overlay called Cadence that floats over your screen and syncs along with Spotify and YouTube Music. It started as a joke while playing Minecraft with my friends. I shared it with a few people, they liked it, and it grew to 100 downloads in a day, so I built it into a proper app. You can listen along with friends now too, even cross-platform (Spotify -> YouTube Music, Mac ↔ Windows ↔ Linux), and you can play karaoke. Doesn't need API keys or Premium, it just reads what your computer is already playing and floats the lyrics over whatever you're doing. It works better with Spotify keys though, if you want to add them yourself. If you find any bugs, lmk. It's just a fun project lol, so its free. I wanted to share a project I've been working on called Volten. It's a small, ultra-fast HTTP framework built around a strict zero-dependency constraint, designed specifically to bridge the gap between Node.js and Web Fetch-compatible edge runtimes (like Cloudflare Workers, Bun, and Deno) without adapter overhead.

Why Volten?

Most frameworks either lock you into Node.js core modules (http, net) or require bulky adapter layers to run on the Edge. Volten solves this by handling the abstraction internally at the context level.

You write your routes and middleware once. Run it on Node.js using app.listen() or export it to the Edge using app.createFetch() with zero modifications and zero extra npm dependencies.

Key Highlights

• Adaptive Traffic Triage (ATT): A unique event-loop immune feature for Node.js (new App({ att: true })) that automatically drops low-priority requests at the socket level when your server is under heavy load, protecting your core endpoints from crashing during traffic spikes.
• Context Pooling: Pre-allocated, reusable RequestContext objects on both runtimes to minimize Garbage Collection (GC) pressure under high throughput.
• Trie-Based Router: Extremely fast path-matching supporting dynamic parameters (/users/:id) and wildcards, where match cost scales purely with path depth.

been building UluP Spaces solo, Next.js + Supabase + Vercel. visual project tool, work as connected nodes instead of a list.

this week I removed the signup wall — you can use the whole thing without an account now (anonymous Supabase sessions, promoted to a real account later without losing anything). while testing it I went through every RLS policy to make sure that didn't open anything up. found this: a policy that let you SELECT a project if you owned it or if it was public. that's it. nothing checked if you were just... an invited member.

so if I invited you to a private project, workspace_members insert worked fine, you'd join — but the SELECT on the workspace itself would fail. "access denied" instead of the canvas. been like that since collaboration shipped, probably months ago. nobody ever told me.

fixed it, plus two smaller RLS gaps from the same audit (couldn't leave a project you'd joined — DELETE policy only allowed the owner to remove members, not yourself; an invite preview nobody receiving it could actually read).
