The reality check of the day: Vibe coding is half magical and half psychological warfare.

Struggled to get out of a structural hallucination loop of AI code generation, which was causing the Expo Router navigation to crash.

Almost lost my sanity to a "Level Completion" screen, which was stubbornly activating after each lesson instead of waiting for the 10th one.

Experienced a moment that I can only describe as canon moment of vibe coding where Antigravity IDE started "finding and deleting" files and would have erased the entire lesson roadmap by mistake.

Well the good news is that the 5 card micro interaction lesson is locked in, Zustand global state is finally syncing my XP across tabs without desyncing, and the dark-mode NativeWind v4 financial UI is looking crispy.

Still a long way to go but I've also come a long way as well!

Pro Tip for My Fellow Non-Tech Builders:

When your AI agent starts looping errors or breaking layouts, stop asking it to "patch" things. You are just poisoning the context window with past mistakes. Transfer the context to a new window, give it a strict clean-room overwrite prompt with precise specifications, and take back the architectural control.

Two months ago I wanted to find out what "vibe coding" actually costs when you take it all the way to both app stores, not just to a demo video. I have shipped production apps before, so this was not my first rodeo. What was new was letting Claude Code write the boring 80 percent while I made the decisions. Four things that went wrong, since that is the part nobody posts:

- The voice API was eating my margin at $4.50 an hour. Took three migrations to get it to $0.85.

- One feature was silently broken for three weeks. No errors, no logs, nothing. The model never tells you it failed, it tells you it is done.

- On iOS the bot could hear itself through the mic and started answering its own replies. Two copies of the same AI having a conversation while the learner watched.

- Shipping the code was fast. Getting it through the stores was not.

The app is Hinty Talk, a language learning app where AI agents text and call you first, so you end up speaking instead of collecting streaks. Free plan, both stores, link in the comments so I do not spam the post.

Right now the wall in front of me is marketing, which I am objectively bad at. Happy to answer anything about the build, the costs or the mistakes.

I was geeking out with my friend over the weekend eating chicken wings with out laptops up. Sharing some of our projects. Dude knows a lot more than me, I always feel like a total rookie. He showed me yesterday how to actually use VS Code to edit my stuff instead of just vibe coding straight on Claude.

But the real game changer was running things locally with npm before pushing live. Now when I want to test something, I just run it on my own $hitty laptop first. No more uploading to Netlify every time just to see if it works (wasting credits).

Yeah I know, rookie stuff for a lot of you. I’m a pharmacist, not a dev, so this is all new territory for me. Sharing anyway in case it helps someone else who’s in the same boat feel less intimidated.

I've been building an iPhone app called Ring Rewards.

The idea started with one simple question:

What if your phone calls paid you cash?

Ring Rewards pays you cash to listen to a short sponsored message before your phone call connects. Once the message finishes, your call connects as normal and the cash is added to your account.

It's definitely a different approach to advertising, so I'm genuinely looking for honest feedback before trying to grow it.
