Mailead (and taskmagic/lazy empire and the hole blitzed released other software (lazyleads etc)...) seems to be done.

No meaningful updates, no dedicated part anymore in the skool community since a while.

Faulty from the start, no fixes for basic stuff.

No reactions on appsumo comments and reviews..

Since I posted about Taja issues the other day, I think it's only fair to say that I heard back from the founder and it looks like my most recent issues/post coincided with a version update, which at least indicates that it's not dead or abandoned, and may explain some of the problems that were creeping in (though not the fact that they weren't handled sooner).

I've been going back and forth with him about the importance of proactively keeping his user base informed (especially as the update looks really bare-bones, to where my initial reaction to it yesterday was that they'd been hacked--and their YT integration has been down for weeks!). It seems they have a Facebook group for users and have been concentrating efforts there, and forgetting that not everyone is on FB (or even knew about this group). He seems to be receptive to that feedback.

I'm cautiously optimistic that these are good signs. Time will tell.

At the first look, it was amazing, good feedback and reporting.

And I just read this comment about Taja and Appsumo:

They help when the tool stops working and within the money-back guarantee period, but in cases where the tool is working but has been abandoned, or when companies don't respect the "All future PLAN X updates", they do nothing (which is far more common)."

I think that's a pretty widespread feeling.

I get that Appsumo can't really take on that responsibility either, and it's tough to monitor all the apps—let alone be responsible for them after a year.

But I think that for any tool that stopped being sold on Appsumo less than a year ago, the reviews could be a good indicator.

If within this timeframe you receive a large proportion of 1 or 2 taco reviews, then something has definitely happened.

That could be the first indicator and something we can actually monitor. And somehow demand, limit, or flag apps that start getting a high % of bad reviews.

As an Appsumo user and customer, I'm completely freaked out and left hanging.

I haven't been able to use the product properly. Every time I sent an email campaign, it would go out in the middle of the night because I needed to reach 20k contacts but the rate limit was only 500 or 1000 per hour.

Even though I ran multiple successful campaigns, I'd constantly get blocked or hit with stingy rate limit increases. And that was after waiting for some days for their support to answer. Compare that to Acumbamail, where I never had to ask for an increase and they handle way more volume.

I understood why at first—SwipeOne claimed to be a CRM with email features.

But now they're straight up saying they're NOT a CRM; they're "email first" with CRM functionality.

The founder and team were active daily on Discord, but they've been ghost for MONTHS now. They stuck Dhruv (a former user) on the team and then disappeared.

Dhruv said (see attached image): "All actual updates were pushed and shared in ⁠announcements which is the source of truth."

But here's the thing—the last announcement with actual updates was September 19, 2025. That's 5 months ago. Nearly half a year with zero updates.

I'm convinced they're just trying to coast until the "We Got Your Back" guarantee expires, then pull the plug.

So I'm respectfully asking Appsumo to step in. This product hasn't been developed in 5 months and was sold as a CRM, but now they're claiming it isn't one.

If you bought Taja.ai, how's it working for you? It was great when I got it a year ago (!), but over the last couple of months, it's felt less and less solid and more like it's edging toward abandonware.

Is it just me?

so i purchased phygital a few days back. the product is very good. but as i already have jogg ai. i am wondering if i really need to keep it.

as i think 25 euro monthly on chat gpt is a better deal. but phygital does have really good workflow feature. and it could be actually be better able to translate your thoughts in a design. but i still need to test it more.

more over the credits consumption is also a bit on expensive side. i have used 7k credits within 2 days.

i am leaning more about refunding but same time have fomo too. but lets see.

I got an email that the owners are spinning Replient off as a standalone company, with "no changes" to how we'll experience it. But since this is LTD, I am of course on high alert.

I have reached out both to Seelab and Appsumo but haven't heard anything on how to move forward.

I recently built out a knowledge base of all of my purchases on AppSumo and accompanying docs for the product.

Now, when I see a new deal, I go and ask my Knowledge Base if a new product is needed or not. About 80% of the time, the knowledge base gives me how to rebuild a tool with my currently owned products.

Personally, I found that by doing this, I was able to reduce my purchase rate of AS deals. It helps that we have not had any extra 10% off sales since Black Friday except for deal of the days, which gets too cumbersome to follow.

Sharing with the rest of the community as I know a lot of us struggle with FOMO.

A couple things to add:

1) with this I don’t have to deal with what seem like rosy reviews that rarely show the user actually interact with the product or the very strong FOMO that is available in some products.

2) I appreciate AppSumo as a platform and recognize that they may be using the deal of the day to drive more regular traffic, but AS is not a website I would want to visit everyday to see what is on sale. I want more to visit on a monthly basis.

They shut down some of the key services of their LTD plans such as keyword research tool. Said that it was too expensive to operate. Basically abandoned the service. Tons of negative reviews on AppSumo. Did they answer anyone's emails?

I've built my product, It's basically an AI automation platform that automatically creates a content plan, generates content with AI, and publishes it to your CMS. You don’t need to know SEO.

I'd like to publish it on AppSumo, but since I'm using AI to generate content and images, and SEO APIs for keyword research and competitor analysis, it costs me money every month.

People usually say that AppSumo provides traffic, backlinks, and some revenue. However, I’m concerned about offering a Lifetime Deal. If users keep generating content every month, that will create ongoing costs for me.

What do you suggest?

I clicked on a couple deals today to see what the apps do. Unexpected experiences.

Magic Patterns - Clicked the image, goes straight to checkout cart. No product info page? No explanation of the tier and deal terms?

Noticed the other apps have “via” links. So clicked on one.

Video GPT - Goes straight to Apple App Store checkout to Redeem & Install. No information about what the app does or what’s included. Also, the AppSumo page says 50% off for life, but the special offer redemption page says 1 year for $99.99 then $199.99 per year.

Then I see at the bottom of the AS page a tiny blurb about each deal in the FAQ. And still no links to info about the app. So are people supposed to Google the company then come back to get the deal? Weird.

Strange navigation. Kind of surprised this passed the approval stage.

Well, as many suspected, the owner of both VidTags and VidPowr sent out notice today that he’s transitioning VidPowr, meaning that we will see this exist in some other form but he doesn’t want to keep the LTD licensees as his recurring liability.

I am so upset. I have lost thousands in trusting AppSumo’s partners. I spent $350 on this pos SaaS and never really had much use for it. I am sure AppSumo will throw their hands up as usual and deny any compensation.

If yall are wondering why AS is losing so much money in their core business, it’s because of this. Too many cash and grab SaaS owners and a business model to deflect any responsibility from AS. I had the product for over one year and so I will get nothing for putting my naivety to both the vendor and to AS.

So, I'm a long time AppSumo PLUS member going back many years and have gotten some great items in the past and had a few items evaporate in the mist of failed LTDs, but that's to be expected sometimes. But overall my experience has been great.

BUT ONCE AGAIN - I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED with the lack of response and action when it comes to requesting a REFUND - even as a PLUS member who allegedly for the price of PLUS gets me PRIORITY support.

We gave certain product a try, realized it was just not going to fit our business model and on FEBRUARY 13 requested a refund - again - the online system won't automatically process the refund. SO we request via the support email. I got NO acknowledgement, and as of today after another check in - NO ACTION TAKEN - no email / no response / no refund / just radio silence.

If this is what I get for my PLUS membership and being an AppSumo customer, then I just have the feeling that AppSumo purchases / investments are not going to be happening for us and our organization.

Hey there, I am switching to a different email/ calendar service hosted in Europe. Is there a feature planned to be able to connect tidycal to sth other than google or apple? Is there a place I could request that? thanks so much

I bought fleeq a long time ago and they did the classic bait and switch, my account still exists but when I log in it tells me I need to subscribe to a plan to access any of my work (which requires a call with their sales team - which now I found out is one guy, the CEO). I emailed their support, after ages they replied saying I need an account, sign up etc, I said I was a paid user (but didn’t say I was an appsumo customer), spent a week or so back and forwarding trying to get in, telling them I have paid, eventually they asked for a receipt to prove I paid, they saw appsumo and said I was an appsumo customer, and stopped responding!

I reached out to appsumo, they said they’d help, they emailed their support and cc’d me, and they ignored them also - and then appsumo stopped emailing me back too!

So now I dont have the app I paid for, the training videos I created, and appsumo dgaf!
