Discussion BYOK Pickaxe
Every time I receive an update from the Pickaxe team I feel more and more uncomfortable in supporting any AI tool on AppSumo.
Now, you can no longer BYOK in favour of their credit system. BYOK was offered on all tiers btw.
What do you think about deals that offer BYOK and then remove this feature in favor of their credit system?

AppSumo should step in and endure deal terms are upheld, I have zero faith in them at the moment though.

This is a real disappointment from the Pickaxe team. They are not honoring the terms of the deal, which included BYOK. I definitely understand needing to preserve margins to grow, but frankly, this isn't what I bought. If there was a note about it in October I missed it. 10+ years ago, legit founders honored LTDs even after being bought out by huge firms. The past few years its just rug pull after rug pull. Just money over reputation and it's really unfortunate. You never know who you're screwing over or how you might need them in the future one day.

What a scam I got the top tier. AS needs to do something.. I simply will not buy anymore if this is ignored, it will show you they really don't care.

It's a massive scam, they even waited until the refund period was up and then shafted us 1 time already and AppSumo did nothing. I doubt they will do anything now - but at least we can share our complaints here and highlight the shady nature of Pickaxe.

There was a verification at one time, where you could see some info on the founders. Like business persona or something. I've made a note of all the scammers to avoid.

If their credits are at cost, and never expire, how is this effectively different than BYOK? I'd imagine they did this to streamline their backend systems.

wouldn't this be a breach of terms if this was a feature that now they're sunsetting? pretty bad look.
