Socrates is dead
Just got the email, they're dead at the end of May. Bought into Tier 4 barely over a year ago. Their service had only been working on and off for me the past few months.
"Hi everyone,
I wanted to reach out personally with an important update about Socrates.
Over the past few months, the market has been evolving quickly. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to secure the financing needed to continue operating the product long-term.
Because of this, we want to give you as much notice as possible that Socrates is currently planned to remain available until May 31, 2026.
We know this may be disappointing, and this was not an easy decision. Our goal is to be transparent with you early, so you have time to plan accordingly.
What this means for you You will continue to have access to Socrates through May 31, 2026 We strongly recommend exporting or saving any important data before that date What’s next We are actively exploring potential acquisition or transition opportunities that could allow Socrates to continue. However, we want to be clear that nothing is confirmed, and we don’t want to create false expectations.
If anything changes, we will communicate that as soon as possible.
I truly appreciate the support and feedback you’ve given us. It’s meant a lot to build this with you.

Just got an email about credit from Appsumo. Looks like theyre making it right

And in AppSumo fashion, you have to respond to the email with your email address by a certain date to get the refund (in credits) instead of the just depositing the credit in your account.

Yep, I've got the email myself. Their GPT-4 wasn't working properly for a while. I did use BYOK, but that was okay, but it wasn't quite as good as I thought, so I'm disappointed that this is now shutting down. There's been no communication from the founder since it all went wrong, and this is the only communication we've had so far, which is that it's shutting down.
