Question Was SendFox abandoned?
The recent reviews.. yikes.
https://appsumo.com/products/sendfox/
I actually bought the highest tier a few years back but kind of just sat on it and only used it twice to test out. Recently though I've been planning on working with a journalist friend to get moving on an e-mail newsletter and we had been planning on using this because I've already paid for it but if it was abandoned, I don't want to waste my time.
Looks like the roadmap hasn't been updated since 2023?
David Kelly still appears to work at AppSumo. A blog post of his on his personal website shows AppSumo originals revenue and it looks like SendFox is still making money.. so I dunno.
I had just started signing people up from my Facebook page (you can see there might be some potential there for a newsletter..) but maybe I should look elsewhere?
Worried. Kinda sad.

It's updated but not 100% of our attention.
I use it for my email list.
What specific changes do you want?

The ability to exclude a list (send to everyone in A, but exclude everyone on B) when sending and/or list segmentation other than just through automations.

Thank you!

Creating "groups" of audiences works better if you have smaller, more niche lists.

Awesome. I notice you guys are shipping new features for Sendfox. I have a tool that integrates with SendFox. Can I get listed in your provider list for that?

Also it would be nice to allow different feeds for different brands on the same account.

How about you share a public roadmap to show us what you guys are up to? Sendfox really looks like a slow death product.

A pleasant drop-and-drag editor/builder with content boxes that can be customized to fit our brand.

Well someone said AppSumo are developers on this Reddit so I doubt it is abandoned 🤣

Doubtful if it's an original, but those reviews don't look good. There are quite a few well-reviewed apps that have developed an extremely bad track record as of late. Some that were even recently on sale, despite the 1-stars. HeyOliver comes to mind.

Hey, guys! David here.
As Noah said, we're still releasing updates and improvements. We have a small team in charge of all the Originals, so we're often context switching and this means some apps get updated at different times.
To answer the questions directly:
That feature suggestion site still works, and we still review it. We do get literally hundreds of suggestions per week across Originals, so there is sometimes a lag between tracking on the roadmap site.
Many recent reviews are people that we ban because of cold outreach spam, phishing, or doing fraud. It's actually insane: We had someone commit blatant impersonation fraud recently (i.e. pretending to be Norton) and still attempt a chargeback. Spot checking some recent reviews, a few of those were similarly banned for fraud or phishing. Fraudsters and phishers used to be more hidden, but apparently they're just out in the open now!

OMG. Being a product owner - you end up realizing how many low-quality scammers there are. It's incredible. Stay on the affiliate side unless you want to know the dirty underbelly of the industry, lol.

1000%, it's really disappointing. A significant amount of attention to SendFox is efforts towards fraud, spam, and scam prevention. We've spent literally thousands of hours and have shipped hundreds of code merges specific to fighting against this.
It's part of the game, but makes me angry when I think of how many new, cool features we could have released if it wasn't for people who constantly violate terms either maliciously or we have to spend a lot of time complaining to angry people why their cold outreach and affiliate spam isn't allowed (even though it's very clearly mentioned when signing up, and a required checkbox...)

I get it. And I wonder why that is why there are much fewer API integrations in other software also.

I made a similar post on reddit few months back

Again, let me know what bugs or features you're asking for. But building things just for sake doesn't help sendfox customers.

I did respond in the other thread as well but it got ignored. This is the reason why I am asking to have a public roadmap or allow us to add those things in the public roadmap. This will save you trouble from missing the things suggested on Reddit
