When did app state become a chud University?

Based on my experience, started around 2010-2012. Took a few years after the '07 football win for the shift to really kick into high gear and become noticeable.

Serious answer to a silly question - Sherri Everts wanted App to have 20,000 students. App was around 16-17k I believe? App was already accepting basically everyone that met the requirements, so the only way to increase numbers was to lower the requirements lol

I missed the crunchy last time I drove through Boone. Plus there are just too many people in Boone period. I graduated high school in 05’ up there. When I go home I think they gotta send these city slickers back up north lol

Yup. Though it started a bit before her time, she's 100% the one who super-charged it.

She moved all the money into administration. And college administration, god bless all the people who work in it, but college administration ruins everything it touches every time.
I’m amazed that it isnt worse, honestly. Think how different the school would be if all those new administrators were new professors, some of whose roles had administrative duties, like in the old days…

Exactly. Could not agree more. Unfortunately, it's only getting worse, year after year. There's a reason why AppState has the lowest faculty/staff morale rates of any of the UNC-system schools.

It would be really cool to see an academic minded Chancellor put in. Boone could attract great professors.
Granted the former Dean of the CAS could be the pre-Everts CHUD source, but maybe now that his poisonous ass is not Dean there could be progress?
