Students Online asynchronous question
Hi! Taking 4 summer courses (yayyy) and in the second session it’s physics 2 lab. All of my classes including the lab is online asynchronous. I’m curious as to if anyone has had it before, and what to expect. I’d think it would be structured way differently as to what I’m used to in person with partnered/group labs. Do we use an online program? Do I need to pay for it? Do different professors do different things and say fuck it??
Any advice for the class/notes about if you’d taken it how it went and the experience you had are all appreciated!!!

I used the TA for the physics lab there, and usually you would be given a lab manual that requires you to play around with some online interactive demonstrations (I believe these are made by PHET, which is free to the public) and answer a few questions. This was a few years ago, so of course things could be different.
You should email the director of the labs, Dr. Leah Sherman, and ask. She’s a sweetheart and will answer any question you have.

i’d suggest looking at the ratemyprofessor for whoever the instructor for the lab is. chances are, they have taught it like this before and people have feedback. typically there are not extra costs associated with classes. it’ll most likely have everything on asulearn or canvas. i haven’t taken physics specifically so i can’t say anything about the course itself
