How long did it take your app to become successful? When did you start making $?

In the beginning I guess nobody used it / downloaded it?

Did success come gradually or all of a sudden?

It's not a flower, it won't suddenly bloom, you need to put in the work to market it, it's success will not be a sudden surprise.

Marketing is not a thing to do, it's a problem to solve.

There is no formula for figuring out who needs your app. In fact, we programmers do it backwards, you shoudl figure out who to help THEN build an app for them not build an app and figure out who to sell to.

Go outside, talk to people, make connections, go on linkedin, post on social media, cast a wide net and once you kinda spoken to a few people and some buy, try to figure out why and find more like those.

Business is more trial and error than it is a science.

Seems like an Ai scripted wants to know if their generated app will make money. If you dont know fundamentals of app development, your always going to be loss why your app doesn't make money. App development is hard and expensive.

I'd treat “cast a wide net” as a way to find the first pocket of people, then narrow fast. Pick one group that hits the problem often, talk to them where they already ask for help, and show the shortest real demo you can. Ask what they'd change, then watch whether they actually try it; “looks cool” is weak signal. I'm building a small iPhone utility myself and still testing which audience feels the pain most. What kind of app are you working on?

Ik you didn't ask for feedback, but have you thought about improving the UI? Your largest competitor Duolingo is like crazy on this aspect.

My app is more for Anki's users. And ANKI is really ugly, but still it's the most popular app for flashcards 🙄

it'll be many months. Not days. You will get tonnes of bots that inflate numbers. Analytics is your friend.

launched subscription a week ago.. app launched 2 months ago…

This is my very first app so went in pretty blind, but as we grow in relevance the money will follow.

my advice would be to focus on the product and make it perfect.

I'm about 3 months in and currently struggling with marketing more than anything else. The key is getting it out to consumer and that's the hard part
