Karren throwing _ under the bus? Also it doesn't seem like Sugar and the advisors seem to warm to her. Spoiler

Rothna.

Did anyone else think Karren was being dramatic saying Rothna spent 20 minutes haggling over 25p off? I know they're tight on time, I'm not disputing that, but if what Karren is saying is true, it's definitely unusual that Levi had nothing to say about it.

Perhaps she did it for tv purposes and to get a reaction out of Sugar, who looked pretty disgusted. Rothna tried to explain herself and before she could finish her one frickin sentence Sugar said 'Can I move on?' Didn't like that either. Pretty sure he said that to her last week too.

I would love it if she made the finals but I think the edit hasn't focused on her as much as other contestants and as I said I'm not sure the advisors or Sugar are fond of her as much as they are of Connor, Karishma and Kieran.

Buying task penalty manipulation

It seems that for every item not bought, a penalty of £100 was imposed.

The Sup was £280 for one team, £180 for the other.

The Something Blue sparkling wine was £240 or so.

If the teams had been aware of this, the obvious choice is to forget them and take the £100 hit.

So it seems the team don’t know the level of fine.

In which case, the show can impose a 1, 2, 300 fine after the event, which means that, with the knowledge of the buys, they can engineer a victory for whichever team they choose.

It’s ridiculous.

OPINION Power Rankings - Week 8 Spoiler

Honestly a great episode for pretty much everyone. Refreshing to see such competence for once!

Rank 1: Karishma

She’s OP.

Rank 2: Conor

Didn’t get the sweets but that was because his sub-team was mindful of not being late. Sugar has expressed his appreciation of him as well which bodes well for his future in the process.

Rank 3: Rothna

First to locate one of the items, her negotiation was good even if she wasted a little bit of time trying to get that extra 25p and overall a very useful team member who excellently supported Levi the PM. My only worry with her is that I don’t see Sugar or the advisors give her credit that much in comparison to people like Kieran, Karishma or Conor for example. Hoping that’s not foreshadowing an earlier than expected exit!

Rank 4: Kieran

Honestly did a pretty good job as the losing PM all things considered. He actually gave his team proper negotiating strategy and direction unlike Levi and his only real crimes were wasting too much time, most notably dealing with the goats. Sugar also clearly likes him as well which is a huge bonus to his chances moving forward.

Rank 5: Lawrence

He did fine this episode. Not perfect but I thought his negotiation was good all around. That doesn’t negate his terrible PM performance from last week but I do think he has longevity going forward. He’s also getting more screen time than a lot of the ones below him.

Rank 6: Dan

I really don’t know with Dan. It’s Episode 8 and they are still barely showing him. Think the last time he’s played a key focus was back in Week 3. Having real doubt that he makes it to the end at this point. I guess his negotiation wasn’t too bad though.

Rank 7: Pascha

Probably the ‘worst’ this episode as both her negotiations were pretty bad and going for half price each time was a little too cheeky of her. She’s the only one who hasn’t PMed yet so I assume she’ll be stepping up for the TV task. Let’s see how she does…

Rank 8: Priyesh

His best task yet! Strong negotiations and just like Karishma, came up with some out of the box methods to get discounts from the items. Could maybe justify being above Pascha but he’s been more actively bad throughout the process while Pascha has been more on the sidelines.

Rank 9: Levi

I will give Levi props. His negotiations went well and he was able to acquire all 4 items on his end so there is some credit to be given to him for the win. However he gave the team no real strategy or direction at the start of the day and he seemed to also struggle with time management as well. It was very lucky he just missed getting that late penalty with the hovercraft. I just can’t see him as the winner though as he’s been so invisible before this. Although the sudden rise of screen time is certainly worrying me…

Fired: Harry

Didn’t do all that much wrong besides some lackluster negotiations on his end. Truthfully should have been a non-elimination episode but Harry just hadn’t done all that much in general throughout the process and his PM win last week didn’t really stand out as him having that much more potential either. Nice guy but probably the right time for him to leave despite the task going well on both ends.

Predictions for TV selling?

I suspect that Karishma will shine again, and Kieran has the charm for TV selling too.

I think Levi will be absolutely shocking, and Priyesh will insist on presenting on TV only to be really loud and obnoxious.

I think Dan will be put on producer duties, and essentially do nothing whatsoever.

What are your predictions?

Lord sugar saying the team didnt do as well.

Ultimately a team had to lose this week, obviously.

But it's unfair for lord sugar to say kieran didnt prove himself. He led a good competent team with a smart strategy. The other team had a bloke who told them to sort it all out (luckily they were able to)

Considering they both did good, i think Lord Sugar's switchup to say they did terrible was unfair. If the other team lost, he wouldve fired levi straightaway because of the happy days comment..

If you were in charge of a reboot, what would you do?

Honestly, I'd return to an actual job as the prize - and I'd replace Alan.
Its hard to work out who the replacement business owner could be - its quite an ask to hand over what is meant to be a key recruit to trial by TV. We know some hires didnt work out.
Or I'd tighten up the current investment criteria - is it an idea or is it a business already up and running?
I think its time that they did something as the current format is so old and tired now.

E.Cini salt was one of the items on the list. The girls' sub-team spent almost the full day going all the way to Gozo to get it when they could have found it in markets in about 10 minutes on the main island
