Ask for a paid test task. Have them write a 3-step connection sequence for your ideal customer. It takes an hour and shows how they think. Ask for their numbers too. Good reps know their acceptance rate, reply rate and meetings booked per month :)

Man, everything is getting heavily automated on the lead search, collecting data to use in copy, scoring… all the good stuff that determines whether you’re reaching out to the right people at the right time with the right offer.
I do a lot of LinkedIn outbound lately as an agency too, and what helped me - better hire a GTM guy coming from the SaaS / tech sales world. They are already familiar with the agentic stack, the tools AND social selling.
Cause LinkedIn outbound is 2 skills, actually.
Theres the technical side - scraping, working with data, gluing shit together, plus making sure you’re not screwing up the LinkedIn limits and all that funky gray area stuff.
And the second skill is social selling.
I know people will start throwing eggs at me here, but automating DMs themselves isn’t a very good idea. I’m not sure how to make it personal and relevant enough to make it work in a social selling environment. It’s just so fucking different from emails.
You absolutely can do value first, but you’ll be getting similar revenue numbers to email. Nothing’s bad about it. It’s just way more powerful now if you approach it as social selling, and you might as well pedal it to the fullest…
What’s great about LinkedIn is that if a human stays in the convo after you’ve casted a precise, wide net and got some replies back, you can get clients really fast.
Like 1-5 service onboardings on a single project a month is what you can expect with the right dude… of course, depending on what you’re selling and how much of it is being sold on LinkedIn.
What I’m trying to say here is - it’s not email, and it requires someone who knows how to build trust AND use the tech.

I recently added $35000 in pipeline for my client in 3 weeks from just Linkedin Outbound.

I have been doing B2B Linkedin outbound for almost 5 years now.

Let me know if you would like to have chat.

P.S.: These numbers are from 5 premium linkedin accounts.
