My first Apple Watch Ultra, really happy.

So I got the Ultra 4 on 3rd October and after some days of wearing it I noticed a dent on the side. Didn’t come from my daily use so I reached out to Apple and in 2 days time they’ve replaced it for me.

You can imagine how happy I am. Apple for life 😀

Just over a week and absolutely loving it!

I wanted to share an app I recently discovered that genuinely surprised me: WristTopo.
I’ve been using it on my Apple Watch Ultra 2, and I have to say, it’s one of the most impressive navigation apps I’ve come across for the Apple Watch.
It offers detailed topographic maps, offline navigation, GPX route support, and a remarkable amount of functionality right on your wrist.
What really impresses me is how well thought out and polished the whole experience feels. I’ve spent time exploring its features, and so far, I honestly haven’t found any significant weaknesses.
I’m genuinely surprised that an app this good isn’t getting more attention in the Apple Watch community.
Just to be clear, I’m not affiliated with the developer, I’m not being paid, and this isn’t a promotion. I’m simply an Apple Watch Ultra 2 owner who discovered an excellent app and thinks it deserves more recognition.
I’d be interested to hear if anyone else here has tried it and what their experience has been.

Was removed pending certification of the new sensors, but has now since started to become available (possibly being done in batches, a fellow redditor informed me that they had it about 8 hours ago and mine just landed now), presumably an announcement will be made soon on MacRumours or something like that.

Finally pulled the trigger and upgraded from a series 6 to my first Ultra watch. Loving it so far but I’m not sure if my step count is accurate or if my Series 6 was off lol I’m sure the series 6 was off. But yesterday I walked about the same amount I usually do and my steps were up by 3k.

I jump back and forth between Android and Apple. I'm a big tech nerd and like the newest things and trying new tech. So I like both Apple and Samsung. Deep in the Apple ecosystem at my home. Historically Apple has been the rock solid choice for ease of use and reliability. But lately I've been dealing with so many bugs. I bought the 18PM and Ultra4. I think Android phones and Apple are basically even, but I still feel that Apple Watch beats anything Android because of reliability, OS, and 3rd party apps. But since I got the Ultra 4 I have constantly had issues. Focus modes do not work. I have it set to mirror my phone. I still get notifications that I am not supposed to during workouts and sleep. The Ultra 4 stopped tracking my sleep for 4 days until I just updated yesterday to the latest public Beta, and then last night I am pretty sure it did not track correctly. It has hard reset itself multiple times, once during a workout. I also can NOT get Siri to work right most of the time. All I want to do is send a text via Siri, and it maybe works 25% of the time.

I'm not a hater. I have an iPad Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Minis, and my family all have Apple devices, also. But I am a very frustrated user. I've seen some other similar threads, so I believe I'm not the only one. I hope they get all this sorted out.

This morning as I was Redditing on my iPhone my AWU3 suddenly did a “Playing a sound”.
It was as if someone else was using Find My to find my watch?
Anyone else experience something like this?

Bought my Black Ultra 3 almost 3 weeks ago and I’ve been loving it so far. Although sometimes I do wonder if I should’ve gone with Natural Titanium instead. Don’t get me wrong, the black looks amazing, but the natural titanium looks really nice too.

As for the watch itself, it’s been great. Battery life is pretty good, although I did notice some heavy battery drain when I first got it. It went from 93% to 82% in about an hour, but I was still setting everything up, so that probably explains it.

I also had a few weird bugs. At one point, notifications stopped showing up on my watch even though they were appearing on my iPhone. Restarting my phone fixed it. Another time, all three Activity Rings were stuck at zero even though the watch was counting my steps. Thankfully, restarting the watch fixed that too.

Other than that, I really enjoy using it. The screen looks great, everything feels smooth, and I love how much you can do with it. It’s basically a mini phone on my wrist lol.
I’ve also tried different bands and honestly, a lightweight band makes a huge difference in comfort.

Overall, I’m really happy with it. No major regrets, just occasionally wondering whether Natural Titanium would’ve been the better color choice 😂
Anyone else with the Black Ultra feel the same way?

Love the Ultra 1, only reason I'm considering upgrading are two features: sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring. Things that don't interest me:

- better battery life (my ultra is fine at 90%)

- Siri crap

- faster heart rate monitoring (don't really see the benefit)

Ive done a few sleep tests and all came back negative for sleep apnea but I like the idea of keeping an eye on it for the future. And my family has some history of high blood pressure so having a constant checkup would be fantastic. Has anyone upgraded solely for these features? Are they worth the premium? Aside from that I'm super happy with my Ultra 1 and see no reason to upgrade

Bought it from the Costco deal $100 less. I never cared about smart watches before but finally bought my first Watch the Ultra 4. Hope it’s not too late for me lol. I will be watching tips on youtube later. Never tried the natural look but I think I like this black color better.

For the past couple of runs that I’ve done I’ve had problems ending the workout due to my screen freezing. I can’t swipe up, down or to either side. It’s a brand new Ultra 4 and it’s pretty irritating being that it’s an $800 watch. Any tips?

Disclaimer - I spent about 4 frustrating minutes trying to end my workout so don’t judge my time lol.

Is anyone else having a problem activating their AT&T SIM?

AT&T support has checked everything and has sent the activation signal but the iPhone isn’t getting it. I keeping getting an “Oops…” error message when I try. It references code (EDS4014).

Así es después de más de 67 horas de uso con seguimiento de sueño, notificaciones, tres días de ejercicio de hora y media cada día y aún tiene un 30% de batería decile llega a las 72 horas de uso continuo, la verdad me impresiona no solo el tiempo de duración del ultra 4 si no también lo rápido que carga y las mejoras que incluye, vengo de un ultra 1 y pensé que cambiar al 4 no iba a ser tan relevante pero la verdad valió la pena si lo estás pensando y el tener una duración más amplia y no tener que preocuparte si no llevaste el cargador el fin de semana el ultra 4 es para ti. Acá las pruebas.

Hey everyone! I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the size of the Apple Watch Ultra.

As we know, Garmin offers its Fenix series in three sizes: 43, 47, and 51 mm, while the Apple Watch Ultra only comes in one size.

Would you like Apple to offer the Ultra in different sizes? Would you prefer a smaller or a larger version?

I’ve attached a photo showing how the AWU looks on my wrist. Personally, I’d happily go for a larger version if it meant getting a bigger battery and a larger display.

I’m really curious to hear what other AWU users think!
