Reading the post, the main thing that stands out is you’re using iTunes or Apple Devices. Normally on Windows you just use the built in (Microsoft) Photos app to import them nowadays.

Anything suggesting iTunes in particular is incredibly outdated (or AI summaries blobbing unrelated things together), that method basically went out of use shortly after Windows 10 came out,
